John Moreland was amazing and the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall was a great venue.
The Birchmere is a great vemue to see two talented songwriters, very intimate and great sound
The Bijou Theatre - Knoxville First time attending an event at The Bijou and my first-time seeing John Moreland- hear on the radio and watch videos online, but the acoustics in the theatre along with his sultry, gritty tone was amazing in person! Just a guy and his guitar on stage made for a memorable-intimate experience. The friendly banter and acknowledgment of the crowd's requests made for a fun atmosphere as well. I have become a big fan of his music in the past 6 months or so and look forward to seeing what comes next. If he's in your area, check him out, you will not be disappointed! Opening act Caroline Spence was a big hit for my daughter.
Minglewood should not book multiple performers without a little more soundproofing. Moreland was 5 stars but the music from the other room took away from the experience.
Absolutely love John Moreland’s voice and music. John Calvin Abney is a great choice to play with Moreland. The seating on the stage set up gave a wonderful intimate vibe. It felt like I was watching him sing and play in someone’s living room. It was my first time at the Coronado, and I was really impressed with the friendliness of the staff. The concert was worth the 2 hour drive to get there.
Venue was unremarkable from outside. We arrived early for good parking then walked around a bit. Sat in shade on benches, as we'd heard best to start lining up at 5pm. It was a long wait til box office opened at 6 then another long wait til we were let in, but well worth it. We got seats at a table right up against the stage. Looking around I did see that there were really no bad seats, as it's a small club. First act Darrin Bradbury was smooth, folksy and somewhat comedic. Main act John Moreland with John Calvin Abney was amazing. Just the right volume, so close, if you used your imagination it was like they were singing right to you. Our server was pleasant, drinks and food were good. Overpriced as typical at a place like this. I'd definitely go back and probably wouldn't change a thing.
As usual, John Moreland didn’t disappoint. He left the room wanting more!
Good show. Should have been a Seated show, though. No need for everyone to stand throughout an all-acoustic event.
John Moreland was amazing live! Great show without the unnecessary frills, and just good music.
