Huggy Lowdown On Tour
The man known as Huggy Lowdown is a kind of comedy cult hero, famous for both his stand-up performances and his contributions to drive-time radio program The Tom Joyner Morning Show.
As a stand-up comic, Huggy has been far and wide. Besides the countless comedy club stages he's commanded, he's made appearances on HBO Def Comedy Jam, P. Diddy's Bad Boys of Comedy series, and specials starring Jamie Foxx and Whoopi Goldberg. He's also taken his signature style of stand-up across the country on the Kings of Comedy Tour, and his ability to shift from cranky to cool to confused to outrageous has brought plenty of audiences into a hysterical state.
Even if the comic had never ventured onto the radio, the name Huggy Lowdown would still be widely known. But when he took on the mantle of the Celebrity Snitch on Tom Joyner's program, Huggy began to garner a wider audience than ever before.?
One of the most popular radio shows around, the nationally syndicated Tom Joyner Morning Show is astonishingly long-running, going all the way back to 1994. And when Huggy Lowdown turns up, he brings with him a combination of show-biz news, celebrity rumors, and the killer comedy instincts that have led his career in stand-up.?
His appearances on the program have made him a favorite of Joyner's huge audience, and Huggy's popularity has increased accordingly. One of his regular routines is "Bama of the Week," a segment in which everybody from Madonna to David Arquette comes under fire for whatever recent misdeeds Huggy decides to hone in on. Along the way, he weighs in on sports, politics, and just about everything else in the public eye, providing plenty of laughs along the way.
I am not a big fan of stand up comedy, but my husband is so it was my turn to plan a date. He enjoys listening to Huggy Lowdown, so I decided to take him to the show. To my surprise it was a fantastic show. I laughed all night. All of the comedians were funny and engaged the audience. In addition to, the venue and food was nice too. I loved it!
I loved everyone's act who graced the stage - from opening to closing. The show was fantastic. Ticket retrieval and being shown to a seat was incredibly easy. I will visit again - since I live approx. 5 blocks away.
The whole show was FUNNY! TASTEFUL! RELAXED ! From the host (The Judge), to Chris Paul to Mike Brooks and of course HUGGY LOWDOWN!! Truly enjoyed myself and what a great way to end the workweek and start the weekend. Great great Time !!!!!!
?????? Need I say more!! Huggy and Chris both gave side-cracking performances. I was also please with the New" Howard Theatre.
