Enjoyable but may not return
by Autumn on 10/24/23This was my first time going to the Sunday show on 10/08/23. I was surprised that there were so many empty seats. Considering the line up, I would've expected a larger crowd. No complaints because people were able to spread out. I think I missed the first comedian but everyone did great for the most part. Tony Roberts hosted and he is a complete fool. He kept the crowd going in between acts. I was glad to see him again after several years. I've never seen Dominique before but she did a great set. I would pay to see her again. I saw Arnez J earlier this year and expected to hear the same jokes. To my surprise most of his material was new so that was good. Don DC Curry seems to be going through some things. I respect that he is still trying to perform. Bruce Bruce told the same jokes from last year and other performances that we've all heard before. I went to the concessions during his set. First time seeing Bill Bellamy. He did pretty good. I think my expectations may have been too high. This was my 3rd time attending. Can't say that I will be back. Last year I went to the Saturday show. Tommy Davidson chose to perform karaoke instead of telling jokes. Gary Owens was no where near as funny as I have seen him be online. Corey Holcomb did a whole set about abortions which is not a funny topic at all. It was inappropriate and very off putting. Lavelle Crawford, Bruce Bruce and Sommore were alright last year however the funniest person was the first guy that went on. Unfortunately I can't remember his name but he was better than everyone which speaks of his talent. I can't remember who all performed in 2021 on Saturday, but Karlous Miller was who I really enjoyed. He was the best that night. For a yearly event, they need a larger variety of comedians, and returning comedians need to come with new material. If they don't make improvements, this event won't last much longer.
