GORILLA BISCUITS IN CONCERT:
?
Punk fans can always count on hardcore heavyweights Gorilla Biscuits to deliver an onslaught of adrenaline-fueled energy at their live shows. The band's heart-pounding rhythms and double dosage of high-octane guitar riffs put fans in the perfect mindset for letting off a little steam in the moshpit. Frontman CIV leads the charge, combining savage screams with melodic breakdowns as he tears through fan favorites like “Hold Your Ground”, “Better Than You”, and “Start Today”. The crowd matches his intensity blow for blow, stage diving and crowd surfing the night away any time the Gorilla Biscuits dole out their blistering hardcore tunes in concert.

Long Island high schoolers Anthony “CIV” Civarelli, Arthur Similios, and Nick Drysdale crossed paths while attending shows at CBGB in the mid-‘80s. After bonding over their mutual admiration of thrash groups like Agnostic Front, Arthur asked the other two to form a hardcore band with him and in 1987 Gorilla Biscuits was born. After recording a few lo-fi demos, the group released their 1988 self-titled EP before heading out on a US and European tour. Even though their full-length debut Start Today was a milestone for the melodic hardcore movement, it was also their swansong. Following the breakup, many of the group’s members joined their frontman in his solo project CIV, while principal songwriter Walter Shreifels formed the band Quicksand. Gorilla Biscuits have reunited numerous times over the years for one-off shows and full-scale reunion tours in 2006 and 2007, showing old fans and first-timers that they can still hold it down. They continue to carry the torch for classic hardcore lovers everywhere, and ticket buyers can expect them to deliver hard-hitting performances anytime they tour.
