Ganja White Night in Concert
As they've continued to create a fantasy-like storyline alongside their seven albums, Belgian dubstep duo Ganja White Night offer a full-fledged multisensory experience in their live performances. Dizzying lights flash alongside mischievous bass and throbbing beats, while animated tales of utopian samurais, cosmic pharaohs, surreal aztec deities, and their own protagonist, "Mr. Wobble," accompany the sonic pathways. Mr. Wobble is the visual vessel for Ganja White Night's "bass wobbling" sound, merging electronic dancehall rhythms with feisty effects. In the image of dubstep titans like The Glitch Mob and Skrillex, the pair play live off laptops, working with original stems piped through virtual instrumentation, which naturally adds more improvisation as a tour unfolds. The grandeur of the visual wizardry behind them makes the music's creators seem like mere pawns in the projected world of their show, when in fact they are the driving force. And now, as they take ‘The Origins' project around the world, they're leaving behind a trail of bodies in motion, totems in the air, and heightened senses all around. Catch them at EDC Orlando, Nghtmre Before Xmas in San Francisco, and elsewhere.?
Ganja White Night Background
Benjamin "Bamby" Bayeul and Charlie "Erwan" Dodson grew up in the town of Mons, Belgium, away from the hustle and bustle of bigger European cities. They connected in the late 2000s to form what was at first a trio, but soon settled into their duo configuration, releasing their debut self-titled album in 2010. On their own label, Subcarbon Records, they've released all seven of Ganja White Night's records through Bandcamp. They've been at the forefront of the bass music movement, unfolding with and exploring different corners of dubstep at every turn. In 2016, they teamed up with Belgian street artist Ebo to create their narrative-driving Mr. Wobble dubstep superhero of sorts, and the interplanetary visual world that revolves around him. With their latest album, ‘The Origins,' Ganja White Night dig back into the roots of the dubstep genre to enact everything Mr. Wobble has morphed into along the way. From the Caspa-featured "Unique" to the "Samurai" collaboration with Zed's Dead, the journey continues.
such an amazing event! i had a blast and so did my friends and boyfriend. i’ll be back wobble coliseum!!
One of the best shows I’ve been to! Ganja had the crowd vibing on the second night, and tape B killed it opening also!
- Crowd was great - Most of personnel at coliseum were cool - PLUR was at a high level - Visuals were amazing - Tracks and drops were great Will be at the next one for sure!
My husband and I had soo much fun!!!! I was hesitant at first but we are soo glad we went!
The show was amazing!! Lasers and music! Security was way too strict.
Bring more dubstep/brostep back onto the line up or more DNB artists
Fantastic audio, fantastic lights/lasers, friendly workers and staff, clean space! STELLAR MUSIC
This was my second wobble in a row and I went with a friend who has been to all 3 so far. We both agreed that this was the worst one so far but only because the lineup felt weak. The first day was almost a throw away. Inzo was amazing once he arrived but GWN barely even had any graphics up during their first set. It was very underwhelming. Night 2 was wonderful and everyone came in really hard and fun. Great dancing, incredible visuals and lasers, fantastic vibes. Adding to the disappointment was the afters lineup. They didn't even announce who was at afters until the first day, then it was just the same acts from the main event but with some other openers. It felt very last minute and thrown together so I ended up skipping both afters. I'm definitely interested in seeing how future Wobble lineups turn out because I would love to keep making this an annual trip. GWN is wonderful and while it didn't hit the same this year, it was still really fun and I'm glad I went.
Love Ganja White Night so much and the crowd at their events are always incredible!! Allllll the vibessss alllll the wubs and allll the love!! Security at the coliseum never passes the vibe check though.
The venue was good and staff was friendly . I would however suggest having a safe haven or closed off area for people to relax or take a break . Would also add more water filling stations . And also event posters would be nice ..
