I enjoyed the lecture. the sound could be improved. there was a question/comment from the audience..discussion went on for awhile. I nor the people around me could hear the question or the woman's response to what professor glaude said. I would have preferred that the women that had the questions from the audience on a piece of paper would have told us what the question/comment was. I am still wondering.
Amor Towles is an excellent speaker. I have enjoyed reading his books, and seeing him in person was a great experience. The Gifford lecture series is a great asset to our community.
Having read both of Amor Towle's books it was great to hear him describe how he crafts a book. I especially like him because his work is full of literary, historic and artistic references. Unfortunately had no opportunity to ask a question because not seated in the elite section. Disappointed in my seating assignment in the peasant section in the balcony. Had to wait until the five minute call to secure a better seat, could not navigate to the top of the nosebleed seats I made an error in selecting , due to recent injury. I am becoming an advocate for the people with limited mobility. Thanks for your great book talks. Maybe change the location?
Loved how he explained his research for writing, his humor, and deliverance.
So happy I attended. It was an excellent lecture. So interesting . Wonderful to have had this opportunity in Syracuse.
