As an Elvis fan meeting David and having a backstage tour of this historic theatre was so memorable and is an experience I will never forget. Thank you to the Westgate for allowing this to happen - it's a small audience and plenty of time to walk around and take photographs. If you're an Elvis fan this is is an amazing and emotional experience.
Both my son and I travelled from the UK to this event and as Elvis fans we were blown away by this event It was everything and more David was honest and emotional when recalling his time with his stepbrother which only added to the enjoyment special mention must also go to Gordon Prouty who hosted the event and showed us behind the scenes Gary wickens
David presented an amazing event. In addition to touring backstage and getting to visit Elvis’s dressing room, the presenter described family situations that only a family member would know. He did so in an honest way without sugar coating his experiences with Elvis. His book is awesome and expands on his experiences in great detail. This is a must-see event even for those who are not big Elvis fans. David’s personal testimony is truly inspirational.
Listening to Stanley’s stories about life with Elvis was a great experience. He’s a great storyteller and made the time fly by. Being able to ask questions was a nice touch. Sitting on elvis’ stage & going backstage is something that any fan would enjoy! It was a great time. Thank you for keeping your stories alive.
Loved getting to see a backstage view of what Elvis' life was like moments before he took the big stage in Las Vegas. The tour started with a look at his dressing room area and back part of the stage. I loved the intimate setting on stage with David Stanley. He spoke from the heart and took questions after he spoke. I'm glad there is a place for Elvis fans to go when visiting Las Vegas. Here's to many more years of this type of experience at the Westgate.
David Stanley was exceptional in sharing his experiences with Elvis, as a brother, friend, and body guard. Felt surreal to stand where Elvis once did and experience his performance routine. Grateful for David’s stories and remembrance of a special person we love.
The show was very intimate indeed. David was friendly, engaging and very informative. The added bonus of going backstage and to Elvis's dressing room was a thrill. Loved sitting on the stage also. He was very gracious afterward with a meet and greet and book signing. Highly recommend!
Elvis performed over 600 consecutive shows at the International hotel showroom in Las Vegas. This tour begins in the lower level of the International show room where we visited Elvis's dressing room, and then made our way backstage to see where the exact spot on the stage where Elvis started his shows. At that point we were seated on the stage with David Stanley, Elvis' step brother, who worked alongside Elvis as his body guard and travel assistant. Mr. Stanley recalls his time growing up with Elvis and working alongside him to help entertain hundreds of thousands of fans. Elvis fans won't want to miss out on this!
Loved hearing all the Elvis stories from a man who was there by Elvis’ side. David was sincere, engaging, and spoke from his heart. The love he has for Elvis showed. I am so glad that I was able to attend and that the Westgate is doing these shows. I loved the tour backstage. Sitting on the stage for the program was so cool. The only thing that would be neat to add would be a tour of the Elvis Suite. Hope David keeps doing these shows. He does a great job sharing his time with Elvis!
