David Gray on Tour
David Gray can captivate an entire sold-out stadium with just his voice and a guitar, pulling at every listener's heartstrings with each emotional hook. The singer-songwriter grew comfortable on the stage starting out in the early 1990s touring around the UK, Ireland and the US. Within a few years, Gray's audiences grew significantly, especially when he started opening for groups like Radiohead and the Dave Matthews Band. But it wasn't until he went independent and released the album White Ladder in 1998 that Gray began getting the recognition he deserved. He ended up performing at the popular Glastonbury Festival in 1999, and eventually made it to the main stage in 2003. He's since toured the world extensively, selling out dates from the US to Europe to Australia, as he continues to expand his impressive catalog of songs.
David Gray in Concert
English singer-songwriter David Gray has enjoyed a strong, steady career composing some of music's most understated - and underrated - melodies. Gray was born in Sale, Cheshire, in North West England, in 1968, but moved to Wales with his family as a young boy. There, he started dabbling in music, playing in local punk bands as a teenager. He then headed back to England to attend the Liverpool College of Art (whose alumni include John Lennon), and began honing his songwriting skills. After graduation, he relocated to London to pursue a solo career and was quickly signed to Hut Records in 1992. He then released his debut single, "Birds Without Wings," followed by his 1993 debut album, A Century Ends, which captures a young Gray finding and forming his fierce, folk-inspired style. His next two albums, Flesh and Sell, Sell, Sell, brought some extra attention - especially in Ireland - but failed to reach a wider audience across the pond. He decided to go DIY for his fourth album, White Ladder, which he recorded in his London apartment and self-released in 1998. This decision proved to be more than wise: Dave Matthews then released the album on his brand-new ATO Records in 2000, and the single "Babylon" shot up the charts in both the UK and the US. The album has since been certified platinum a jaw-dropping 10 times. Over the following decade, Gray would continue to experiment, weaving in electronic touches while maintaining his signature heartfelt acoustic style. His 2005 album, Slow Motion, debuted at the top of the charts in Ireland and the UK, while his 2009 release, Draw the Line, featured notable appearances from Annie Lennox and Jolie Holland. In the next decade, Gray would slow down a bit, releasing his 10th studio album, Mutineers, in 2014, before returning in 2019 with Gold in a Brass Age, both released on his own IHT Records.

Outstanding show , it was a perfect night and he sounded great
I bought these tickets 2.5 Yrs ago. Everything went smoothly including the easy parking pass. David grey is my favorite. I seen him in London. And then boston when he first got started. He’s so amazing. Such a fabulous voice. If he came to this same venue… I’d be here again!! Love David Gray
The Venue was Great and the Show was one of the best shows I have ever seen, and I have to alot of shows.
Leader bank pavilion is the best Xfinity venue to see a show. Not a bad seat in the house! David Gray was amazing!
Loved the story about finding success and his dad. Would have preferred hearing DG songs instead of David Bowie.
David Gray has always been such a good concert, and this time he was the best out of three I have attended! Such energy! He is such an amazing artist!! And the Pavillion in Boston was so easy to get to, well-organized (down to having to check in my bag and easy retrieval after the concert). If we had not driven to Boston from Vermont to see his performance, I would have gone again the second night!
Fantastic show.also great to see original drummer came out for white ladder part of show.my wife and i couldnt have been happier!
Great venue, terrific artist, just a perfect evening
David Gray was an incredible performer!! I would definitely see him again. Leader Bank Pavilion was a great spot for the show!
Great venue. David Gray was spectacular. He knocked it out of the park.
Beautiful summer night with lovely music ?? everyone was very friendly service wise??
David Gray was amazing! He gets 10 stars!!! The venue was fabulous, five stars. The staff overall.. two stars: aggressive, rude and negative energy (in referring to those at the gate letting people in and the seat “guards”) bar staff in the VIP tent, they get five stars!
We really enjoyed David Gray at Leader Bank Pavilion and our time in Southie. The Pavilion is a wonderful venue but unfortunately on Friday it was near impossible to make out the public service announcements over the PA system. I thought for sure that the sound technicians would adjust for clarity but alas they did not. This of course made it hard to understand the song lyrics and the story that David Gray shared. We sat in row AA center so I’m not sure of the vocal clarity in other sections. Seeing the people around me making gestures that they didn’t understand what was being said told me I was not alone. Hopefully this will be fixed.
We had tickets in the 4th row dead center and it was an incredible show!
Awesome concert! David & his band played from a little after 8 pm to 11 pm(with a 20 minute intermission) He and his band were spot on with vocals and instruments! Such a pleasure to listen, watch, & enjoy ! David and the band gave 100%!!!! Just the best!
Amazing show. He never disappoints. And easy process ordering the tickets and arriving and checking in.
perfection great venue great show cant wait for the next show!!
What a Night!! David Gray loves Boston and Boston loves David Gray. My wife and I have followed David Gray for twenty years. We’ve been to 8 of his concerts including one in Ireland and I’d rank this one as one of the very best performances we’ve seen. The reunion with his former bandmates was surreal. Clune killed it and the audience rewarded the band with love. David was warm and inviting while he took pause to share the story of how the White Ladder Album evolved and took root as one of music’s legendary best albums of the decade. David is a musical genius and I know the ride is far from over. Can’t wait to see him again. Cheers!!
David Gray and his band were on fire. He engages the crowd and gets everyone singing and dancing. The fact that he played a few cover songs made it even better. Tainted Love was a great choice along with Bowie and The Cure. Thank you for a memorable night in Boston.
The songs, stories, and the wild dance moves… awesome night, can’t wait for the next tour
