We really enjoyed this performance. The dancers were excellent, the theater very comfortable - and the staff was very friendly. Overall a great experience - I would highly recommend it!
The costumes were top notch! Your team should be proud. A beautiful use of materials and colors. Courtney Nitting was wonderful! I can see why she is in the top 25. I thoroughly enjoyed the show. It was well worth seeing. The students did a very nice job. Not perfect as they are after all students. Keep training and practicing your craft and you will all be superb. There is a good amount of talent in each one of you.
I told my 4 year old and we had such a magical time! It was her first ballet and seeing it all through her eyes was special! The dancers were wonderful. Such a lovely production!
The performance was top notch, but the facility lacks enough restrooms to accommodate the number of guests attending.
I went with my sister, niece and two great-nieces. This production of The Nutcracker was the best I've seen. I hope to make this an annual event.
I've seen this production of the Nutcracker ballet several times and feel this was the most spectacular performance, yet. From the ballerinas execution, children's energy, loved Mother Ginger's ad lib and the costumes were fabulous. Kudos to everyone involved in the production.
I wanted to see the Nutcracker. I saw that Dance Theatre of Tampa was putting it on at the USF campus. I assumed that the performers were college students heading onto a life of professional dance. I was wrong. It was high school students with younger students chosen for the children parts of the story. The head liners were two of the dance teachers at the performing arts school. It was quite obvious that they were seasoned performers compared to the students. The music was recorded, no live orchestra. The address given thru Ticket Master took me to the library on Campus at USF. Not a soul in sight during Christmas break. If it weren't for a passing Security Guard, we would have driven an hour to miss the show. He led us to the Theater 1 Performing Arts Hall on Campus. We would never have found it on our own. No signs posted anywhere around the venue either. Other folks were wandering around trying to figure out which entrance to use with us! I will tell you those kids danced their little hearts out. The stage and costumes were top notch. However, it was not what I expected. Maybe that was my fault, not reading the description accurately. I just assumed that the Dance Theater of Tampa was part of the USF Performing Arts department.
We appreciate the effort and dedication. Presentation was wonderful. The costumes outstanding. We thoroughly loved the show.
We were excited to go to the event as we usually enjoy the Nutcracker ballet. We'd expected a professional experience, not so much. Different websites had different prices for the seats, we get that fact, glad we didn't pay $65/ticket. The ballet had some cute parts...it was basically a dance put on by a local dance studio. Some ballerinas were quite skilled. Adult men dancing with teenagers creeped out my college-age daughter. We realize that boys don't always do ballet and the girls took on multiple roles to fill the spots... We would've skipped the entire event had we known it was a simply a fundraiser/recital for the studio. Maybe if it would've been advertised as such it would've been an informed decision instead of a disappointing discovery.
It was at a small theater on USF so all seats were great, especially ours in Row H. The Tampa Bay Dance Theater was great as was the scenery and costumes. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. USF Theater personnel were also great!
