Ballet Des Moines Tickets

I loved the Des Moines Ballet's presentation of A Midsummer Night's Dream. Principal dancers were very good. Choreography was clever and innovative. Puck was an absolute charmer--perfect for the role and brought a lot of personality to it. Enjoyed seeing the younger performers. They, of course, weren't as smooth but I love that there's an opportunity for them to participate in a grown-up performance. Costumes were perfect, the right mix of traditional style with contemporary interpretation. I highly recommend this performance, especially in a setting such as Hoyt Sherman Place.

The Ballet Des Moines performance of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” was so much fun! The dancers showed their ability to act and made the story so understandable and funny. But more than that, the dancing was gorgeous and so athletic! This performance had everything to make an evening out most enjoyable!

Awesome interpretation of The Nutcracker. Great costumes and backdrops. Love the inclusion of local talent and children of our community!

I’ve been attending the Nutcracker Ballet for many years in different cities, and this was a disappointing experience. The first time in all the productions that I’ve seen that Clara doesn’t even get a Nutcracker!! The opening scene with the Christmas tree etc everything looked very fake and more like a community theater staging. The opening scene is the one that always grabs you and sets the tone. Too many little kids lowered the level of the performance. They were cute in the sense that that’s what I would expect in a school production. Especially in the scenes that they try to keep the rhythm with adult dancers.

I think the cost was outrageous 336.70 for 4 tickets in the nosebleed section. The show itself was good , I feel like it was long enough the first half was nice the second half was short. Not what I was expecting.

This is the 3rd year we have attended the Nutcracker and it gets better every year.

I loved the performance of the Nutcracker Ballet. What I didn't love was the fact that it took several days and more money to switch my tickets. Is there a way for changes to be made within a window of time immediately after purchase? I knew immediately after receiving my receipt that I had mistakenly chosen the wrong night for the performance. Seems like we should be able to make that change without penalty if done within a certain short amount of time.

Family friendly show incorporating professional dancers and community performers in the perfect juxtaposition!

Ballet Des Moines puts on a magical experience as professional dancers and young dancers from studios all over Iowa tell traditional story of the Nutcracker but with a new version through Clara’s dreams. It is an amazing show!

This was my first ballet and it was wonderful. I will return for more
