Could be better
by Bec on 12/23/23Ames Center - BurnsvilleAnthony's voice was right-on although at times a bit pitchy. His costume was perfect, but his hair did not remind me of Elvis'. Musical selections were varied and nice with a mix of Christmas and Elvis songs. The band was good, not great. The strings had a bit of an issue, as did the flautist. Drums, pianist, timpani and bass player were great. The guitar player was worth the price of admission. He was fantastic to listen to and watch. The back-up singers were great, but the gal with black hair over sang the others, at times over singing Elvis. The male backup singer was excellent - his falsetto was right on key. Overall, the performance was not tight...too many delays between numbers. There seemed to be confusion about which song would be next. When Anthony gave the sign to end the song, a few stray notes could be heard. Anthony had the Elvis leg shake down pat. But that was his one move. A couple more moves would help sell his talent. Thank you for asking.
