From the moment this event began, I was impressed. Every act was fantastic, every reading was poignant, and I walked out both proud and humbled. It was an honor of the highest order to be involved, and the only thing I'd change would be a more frequent occurrence. I wish there was an "a la carte" option for the after party, though! Maybe something to consider in the future?
This is a must experience event! This year was over the top with Chris Martin and the Oakland School for the Arts. Wow, these kids can sing. I'm not sure who was backing up whom, everyone was so amazing. Boy did you get to me! #kellycorrigan #notesandwords #oakarts, can't wait to see what you'll do next. Every year has been special it's own way. Thanks for feeding my soul, I'm hooked.
Notes and Words was an amazing performance, especially the Oakland School for the Arts singers and musicians and Chris Martin. All the writers were entertaining and picked good portions of their books to read. Good variety of acts. My one complaint is that with seats that are not ramped, I couldn't see over the people in front of me. And every time I would try to see between them, they would choose to snuggle and block my view. For this reason, I am not crazy about the Fox Theater.
