Outstanding performances by the entire cast!! Excellent!
Sat center in 3 row pit.... amazing sound and show. Will never age. Too fun!
Wow! Wow! Wow! A phenomenal performance from the entire cast! It was our first time to see Chicago and we LOVED it! The singing! The dancing! Amazing!
I have seen Chicago several times. This was one of the best productions. Loved the band being on stage. Actors were excellent -- I do think we had at least two understudies, though. The Mama character was a little weak (an understudy) and did not fit the role very well. Velma was the best!
This is a review from the performance in Davenport, IA on 05/15/24. The movie is fantastic but the production takes it to a new level! Costumes and coreography were on point, and Roxie, Amos, Billy Flynn as well as the Mistresses of Murders Row were exceptionally cast. It was difficult to see and buy into the casting of Velma as the features and dancing moves were incredibly masculine, and the understudy performance of Matron "Mama"Morton - who was white and thin framed. It just didn't fit the bill. Regardless, The orchesta was TOP SHELF! I really enjoyed the production and would go again in a heartbeat.
Cast was well-rounded overall. Roxy lead was on the weaker side singing-wise. Dancing from the entire ensemble was amazing...the real star of the show. McAllen Performing Arts Center is a nice venue, but they really need to cool the facility better. We sat in the Mezzanine area and it was incredibly stuffy/warm there. Made you want to fall asleep.
This was wonderful. The music was fantastic. The singing was superb. This was a laugh out loud kind of musical. So much fun.
The show was fantastic! Great production but it was so sad to be surrounded by people who do not know about theatre etiquette. I have attended shows in other cities, even New York and never have I seen such disrespect. Ushers should not allowed attendees who are extremely late (some even 25 minutes) to use their phones as flashlights and talk while looking for their spot. It is unfair for us who make it on time and then can’t even see or hear the production. I have lived in the valley all my life and I am so excited to have entertainment such as this so close to home. I just wish the people who attend would be more courteous and respectful.
The Chicago Broadway Show was awesome. It was a night full of Drama, Comedy, Music and Murder!!!!! I would watch it all over again.
This was my first time seeing Chicago live and I loved it. I loved everything about it, cast was great, musicians were great! Go see this touring company if you can!
