CHAKA KHAN IN CONCERT:
The Queen of Funk has no equal: Chaka Khan is, indeed, a living legend. Her live performances are energetic histories of her four-decade long career in music -- from her funk days through her jazz and R&B heydays. Her profound voice carries her fans "Through the Fire," and "Ain't Nobody" loves them better than Chaka. Although Chaka's appearances are less frequent than in her heyday, she delivered big at her 2013 shows, wowing fans and building excitement for her select dates in 2014. Make no mistake: she's got it. She's still got it.?
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Chicago-born Yvette Marie Stevens came up in rough South Side housing projects before she rose to fame under the name Chaka Khan. Her grandmother introduced her to jazz music at an early age and instilled a life-long love of the genre. As she grew up, she bounced around all-girl singing groups and small bands before joining the Black Panthers and changing her name. While performing in a local band in 1972, she was poached by a new group called Rufus, and with her at the lead, the group signed a major contract with ABC Records just a year later. After several years with Rufus, she proved to be just as talented on her own with the 1978 solo debut Chaka, featuring the ubiquitous hit “I’m Every Woman”. All said and done, she has won ten Grammys and sold over 200 million records worldwide.
FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:
"She is a gift of 'honey for the ears!' No one will ever match her talent! We are so fortunate that she shares her gift with the world, and that she has been blessed with an unchanging voice."
"As expected, Chaka torn it up and I couldn't get enough even though she sang for over an hour and a half. I loved every minute of it."
"Very relaxing show! She is a loving artist! Performance great!"

The weather was perfect, the crowd was great and the concert was awesome! For 71y.o., Chaka still has us. She sounded like she did 20+ years ago. On top of her game, that's for sure! Loved every minute if it.
I love Chaka Khan's music. She looked fabulous and she still has the voice too. I hope she comes back to Dell Music Center
I’ve wanted to see a show at the Dell Music Center since it reopened and I jumped at the chance to an icon like Chaka Khan. The venue was up to my expectations but the show was not. Chaka can still hit some of high notes, but she left too much of the singing up to her back up singers. At times, she let the crowd sing the chorus lyrics back to her. And she only played for an hour. I see over 30 shows a year, and the minimum is 1.5 hours. If the show was cut off early due to some prearranged venue restriction, I apologize to Chaka and her people and direct my criticism to the Dell. As for the venue, the seats are roomy with good sight lines. The acoustics are very good. Better go in good weather, however. There is no cover and they allow umbrellas which is ridiculous. If you were to brave the rain, you can’t see anything anyway!
Tnis concert was everything! Chaka sang her tail off. She is amazing I am glad I was able to see her in person! I can't wait to see her again!
We enjoyed this old school concert immensely, worth the price of admission. I’m hoping to see the energetic Zapp Band and the electrifying sensual gorgeous Chaka Khan again
Excellent concert! It was my 3rd Wedding Anniversary gift to my wife and she enjoyed it immensely. The Zapp band was awesome. Then when Chaka came out it was a dance fest all night long with fans joining in on line dances all over the venue. A memory I will cherish forever LONG LIVE CHAKA!
Yes, as for me, first concert since Covid-19, and other setbacks. The legendary Chaka Khan is a living legend and I didn't hesitate she didn't disappoint. Thank you for the many memories. I know Linda is looking down and smiling from ear to ear.
Ms Khan sounded awesome and looked fabulous. Wanted to hear more songs. She has so many hits.
I’ve seen her many times. I love the sing along vibe and constant dancing and moving. She’s a classic.
