Butler University Theatre Department Series Tickets

We saw Radium Girls and were so impressed! The kids did an amazing job. Their performances were so convincing and compelling. The lighting, music, props, set design, etc.-- everything was so professional and looked amazing. The play did not have an intermission, but they totally didn't need one. I was engaged and entertained the entire time. The story of the women at the factory was very touching and I learned a lot about what their lives may have been like. Since we live in Indianapolis, we plan to find more Butler student productions on the future. Great job, kids!

The performance was great! Great vocals and dancing. The Stage Management and Tech was flawless. The only surprise was that the cast did not give a shout-out to Tech and backstage during the ovation received from the crowd. How strange...

I have always loved the music from Pippin! I have seen the show many times and also performed the music. I was fortunate to have seen Ben Vereen, Tommy Tune, Barry Williams, and Irene Ryan. So... I had high expectations. The ensemble was fully engaged and really fun to watch. They were very enjoyable. The Character of Pippin was acted admirably, and though vocals were iffy at times, he was believable and gave a solid performance. Berthe was delightful, but not believable as a "66" year old. Make-up and hair could have made much more of an impact. My biggest disappointment was with the Leading Player. She looked the part, had a good voice, but lacked the ability to do even the simplest of dance steps - painful to watch. I remember the amazing dancing and choreography from previous Pippin shows and it was a huge component of the overall show. So this show totally missed the mark for me in that area. I kept waiting for that show stopping number that never happened. The Shelton auditorium is a wonderful small venue, and these are college kids, so I was glad to see it and walk down memory lane, but definitely room for improvement.

Butler's presentation of Pippin was phenomenal. The Shelton Auditorium is fantastic. We are familiar with Butler's music programs e had no idea that Butler maintains such a strong theatrical and dance program. We will definitely be watching for future events at the Shelton and any Butler theater programs.

The show was fantastic! It was filled with many talented actors, singers, and dancers. It felt like attending a professional Broadway show. Never a dull moment in this show.

The production was a delight: great acting, costumes, lights, staging. The decision to have the actors face front for almost all their lines was strange at first, but once I got used to us, added to a feeling of a distant place and time, with the flavor of Commedia dell'arte.

I took my five year old daughter to the production of Seussical at the Lilly Hall studio theater. It was the first production I had seen there. It was fantastic. I would recommend this theater to everyone.

It was a student performance, not a professional one, but it was loads of fun. Very acrobatic, with a lot of physical humor, especially choreographed pratfalls. We were especially taken with Hermia's incredibly athletic performance that made the show worthwhile all by itself.
