BLUE MAN GROUP AT THE LUXOR
Before Blue Man Group was astounding audiences in Las Vegas and beyond, the founding members were entertaining crowds in Manhattan's Lower East Side. By 1991, Chris Wink, Matt Goldman, and Phil Stanton had a full show at Astor Place Theatre. Blue Man Group's big break arrived in 2000 with their addition to the Las Vegas line-up at The Luxor. Internationally, Blue Man Group has had show runs in cities from Sydney to Vienna. In 2017, Blue Man Group was purchased by the circus-like show Cirque du Soleil to be expanded. The genius of the Blue Man Group has been rewarded with the Obie Award, Off-Broadway Alliance Award, and Drum! Magazine Readers Choice Award. Currently in residency in The Luxor Las Vegas, Blue Man Group also has shows in Boston, New York, Orlando, and Chicago.
ABOUT THE SHOW
Formed in 1991, The Blue Man Group has made the transition from a performance group to an iconic Las Vegas experience. In fact, it's one of the longest-running shows in Sin City. The Blue Man Group live puts on a multi-sensory show integrating percussion and instrumental music, vibrant neon lights, and a variety of tricks using props and water. The actors faces are painted in a signature blue paint, and their signature all-black outfits add to the drama. Let yourself escape into a world of magic as the artists integrate live rock music with slight of hand and use of unexpected props. The group has made its mark on pop culture, with references to the production appearing in storylines on shows from Arrested Development to Scrubs. The groups recordings include "The Complex" album from 2002 which features Dave Matthews and Gavin Rossdale, and "THREE," an instrumental album released in 2016.
Went to blue man group. Fantastic. Recommend for all. Very creative and fun
Hard to describe, but you have to see it! Genuine family fun!
I don't know what I was expecting but this show was amazing!
I believe blueman is futuristic; never a dull moment & always stimulating. Im curious what blue man will have in store when they take it to a whole different level!
Fun interactions with audience, talented drumming and silly physical humor. A show for all ages
wasn't what we were expecting, their shows circa 2010's were better from the videos we have seen. Would not recommend.
I bought a family four pack of front row seats. I didn’t see a map, and assumed they would be decent seats, as there was no mention of obstructed view, or any other issue. Our seats were on the very end, and we really couldn’t see the show. The view was obstructed by speakers, and also at such a side view angle, that we just couldn’t see enough to enjoy the show. Without the visual, the blaring music was just annoying.
We had a great time and the music was great! I took my family to their first Vegas show and they were impressed!
They're an iconic performance group, one I've seen in NY, Boston, Georgia, and now in Vegas. The Vegas show is a lot better than the "New" road show I saw in Georgia. The Blue Man Group were total innovators in that performance space, but if you've seen the show in a major city, it's nearly the exact show in Vegas. They've not changed much at all in the past 20 years. I guess I expected something different. It was still a fun night, but predictable. If you've never seen BlueMan, it's a 5 star show. If you've seen it elsewhere, it's a bit less exciting.
The show is amazingly to say the least. The way the performer's preformed & interaction with the audience is top notch. ***Spoiler allert*** Reason wife about yaked is when the Blue men bring an audience member up on stage for their dinner & the props used are hilarious but wifey just has a weak stomach so during parts of the gag she just cant handle it. Now dont take this wrong it isnt anything grotesque just the idea behind it if mind goes that way can be gross but it was all fun! Even the kids of ours thought it was an awesome experience & wanted to go back.
I had never seen the BMG, and did not have specific expectations as the show has been in LV for ages (not the new shiny thing on the strip). With this in mind, i must say that the show was a really great time, that we enjoyed from beginning to end. If you have not seen this show, bring your kids, sit on the front row center if you can and get ready to laugh.
This is the second time I have seen this show...the first about 10 years ago or so. I was under the impression it would be "the same ol' show" as most are, but I was wrong. Blue Man Group is an entertaining show wrapped around various skits...but for me the true attraction is their unique music played upon a series of PVC piping. Truly worth the time and money to see.
Weird, Wacky, Wonderful - sums it up. Really good fun, very loud, not for young kids!
Got these affordable tickets for Blue Man Group for my fiancés 30th birthday. We LOVED the show. Very entertaining, creative, and talented group!
third time i’ve seen the blue men…..great show every time ! i’m like a kid on Christmas and i’m a grown ass man! love those guys!
Nice show, but it was blasting out our ears. It was loud! But the show was nice.
Incredible show worth every penny. I would return and see this show again and again.
Parts of the routine was GROSS! Spitting out a mouthful of popcorn is not entertaining to me. The rhythm of the drumbeats made the show. Didn't really see the purpose of some of audience interaction. Nonetheless, it was entertaining!
Our group of 6 absolutely loved the show! It was so fun to watch and had us entertained the entire time. It was comedic and was appropriate for all ages. Although for some people there should be a warning about the flashing lights and loud noises.
Enjoyable, but not what it once was. A little too much reliance on potty humor gags. Previous iterations seemed a bit more creative and innovative. The current show seems a little lacking in that department. Still, it's Vegas and Blue Man Group is an institution. If you've never been, it's worth checking off your Vegas bucket list.
