BLUE MAN GROUP AT THE LUXOR
Before Blue Man Group was astounding audiences in Las Vegas and beyond, the founding members were entertaining crowds in Manhattan's Lower East Side. By 1991, Chris Wink, Matt Goldman, and Phil Stanton had a full show at Astor Place Theatre. Blue Man Group's big break arrived in 2000 with their addition to the Las Vegas line-up at The Luxor. Internationally, Blue Man Group has had show runs in cities from Sydney to Vienna. In 2017, Blue Man Group was purchased by the circus-like show Cirque du Soleil to be expanded. The genius of the Blue Man Group has been rewarded with the Obie Award, Off-Broadway Alliance Award, and Drum! Magazine Readers Choice Award. Currently in residency in The Luxor Las Vegas, Blue Man Group also has shows in Boston, New York, Orlando, and Chicago.
ABOUT THE SHOW
Formed in 1991, The Blue Man Group has made the transition from a performance group to an iconic Las Vegas experience. In fact, it's one of the longest-running shows in Sin City. The Blue Man Group live puts on a multi-sensory show integrating percussion and instrumental music, vibrant neon lights, and a variety of tricks using props and water. The actors faces are painted in a signature blue paint, and their signature all-black outfits add to the drama. Let yourself escape into a world of magic as the artists integrate live rock music with slight of hand and use of unexpected props. The group has made its mark on pop culture, with references to the production appearing in storylines on shows from Arrested Development to Scrubs. The groups recordings include "The Complex" album from 2002 which features Dave Matthews and Gavin Rossdale, and "THREE," an instrumental album released in 2016.
Enjoyed the wholesome and funny show. Difficult to find shows nowadays that produce genuine and clean humor. Thanks BMG.
It was very refreshing to see a show with some new ideas. There where quiet a few moments where i felt like saying: Wow i really did not see this before.
My wife and I have seen the Blue Man Group perform 3 times in Las Vegas and once in Cleveland, Ohio. They always exceed my expectations with every performance adding new items to their acts and exciting new surprises. The Blue Man Group is a "must see" show. We will be seeing them again.
We dared to sit in the poncho seats and had an amazing time. The ultimate Vegas experience.
My husband and I saw Blue Man Group in Las Vegas when the kids were babies. So now that they are 9 & 11, we decided to take them to see The Show when we flew into Vegas. The kids had no idea what to expect and it was hard to explain to them, dancing, art, music, comedy, etc. the kids were blow away! Saying they loved the show was an understatement. They can't wait to go back!
Blue Man Group was entertaining from beginning to end! We had two adults & two children in our group (ages 9 and 15). We all loved the show!
Saw BMG at the Venetian twice and really enjoyed it. When they moved to the Monte Carlo, our first thought was to pass thinking it would be the same show at a different location. After reading reviews that the show included some pieces from the old show but some new ones, we decided to go on our next trip. The show was good, but not great. It appears they pulled some of the pieces we really like (like how to become a mega rock star). Still engaged the audience but was not as much fun. If you have never seen BMG, it is worth going to. They do a fun show. If you saw the show at the Venetian, be prepared for a little let down.
Unfortunately I had seeing some of the acts on YouTube so watching them live wasn′t a big deal. Then, some of the non-musical bits are disgusting, especially the one where one of the BMG puts inside a lady′s purse from the audience a so-called piece of art made of some kind of clay that he had previously stuck in his mouth. Same goes to the 3 pieces of chocolate that after being in another BMG′s mouth, ended up in a person′s hand. Lastly, there were 2 really boring acts, the one where they called a girl to the stage with them and the one where they tale a guy from the audience and waste a lot of time just to have him paint a smiley with his ass. Waste of money, waste of time.
A fun time was had by all. Entertaining through out. One slow area (table scene) but by in large worth seeing. Our kids (4) 14 to 20 loved it. One word of caution, it is very loud. Next time I would bring ear plugs. My ears are still ringing from the band.
great show, loved the interaction with the audience
The show was so great. We enjoyed every moment. I would recommend to anyone visiting Vegas to take in this show. They will not be disappointed!
I would definetly go and see this show again, this is a must see!!
The Blue Man Group was extremely entertaining. They interact with the entire audience. I laughed through the entire show. I will forewarn that if you are sitting close watch out for the bananas! Well worth the money.
I am not old, but this was extremely loud and the room was very cold. I didn't see any talent other than a lot of drum banging. The trio spent a lot of time walking around the room looking for audience participation when clearly they would choose someone in the front section that paid a higher ticket price. The stars of the show were the musicians that actually showed that they know how to play music.
We visited the show and had a lot of fun. The show was really fantastic. Go on like that and we will come soon. Yours family Rau from good old Germany.
Colors was wonderful. The large screen is very good to see the show in detail. No need to understand the English language (we was a family of 5 french peoples!). Only one thing: the tickets are expensive.
fantastic show with intelligent texts and marvelous show the audience is indeed accompanied i would recommend this show to all my friends and collegeus coming to NYC or LV
Different. Concert dragged a bit in the middle. Overall it was entertaining but had so much drumming. It kinda felt like you were waiting for the performance but it kept on and on with the drumming. It almost felt out dates, like I was watching a version of TRON. They need to get more into the future..
Blue Man Group continues to entertain. I have been to several of their shows over the years and it was a few years since I had seen them. Some of the same stuff I have seen before but the 2nd half of the show was new and very entertaining. Very different from the standard Vegas fair. Watch for the smoke rings!
As a 21st birthday present, My husband and I took our grandson & friend, both musicians, to Blue Man. With front row seats, needless to say we were all overwhelmed!! The choreography was fantastic - - - totally entertaining!!
