These guys are so talented. You can't help but smile when you hear them play. I don't understand why the show wasn't sold out.
What a pleasure to hear BeauSoleil play great music in the intimate North Lights Theater at Potowatomi Casino in Milwaukee! Fabulous acoustics, comfortable seating, and good drinks made for a very enjoyable Mardi Gras celebration.
I had never seen BeauSoleil before but my friend really liked them so I got her a ticket for her birthday. The show wasn't sold out so the theatre upgraded our seats from balcony to floor for no charge which was wonderful! It was a great band to see considering we were celebrating Fat Tuesday. Great Western Louisiana band. 90% of the lyrics were in French which really gave the night a Mardi Gras feel. Loved the lead Michael Doucet, and especially enjoyed the washboard and concertina - really got the crowd going - fun band!!!
Michael Doucet was awesome on the fiddle. Great music and great fun.
Beausoleil reminded me of how much I miss my home in Louisiana. Their high spirit, mournful story-telling, love...all the emotions are there in their music and "told" through incredible talents from all the musicians. Thanks for keeping cajun culture alive where ever you travel. One addition I might suggest...especially in venues such as OH...bring along some dancers, or you yourself provide a little bit of 2-stepping so folks get to enjoy that as well. Lastly, my first time at the Lincoln theatre....and hopefully not my last...a beautiful place to hold such events. Thanks to all who helped make this a memorable experience.
Loved the music, the dueling fiddles, the squeezebox, the guitar. Sound system wasn't up to par. I couldn't understand Michael Doucet most of the time and I was in the third row. The encore was achingly beautiful.
This band is wonderful. This music makes you happy and yearning to get your a** to New Orleans for more music, sights, sounds, smells, and all of the enchantment and excitement that the Big Easy has to offer. I thoroughly enjoyed this show.
