Alabama Ballet Presents George Balanchine's The Nutcracker Tickets

I have seen the Alabama Ballet perform The Nutcracker several times and it never fails to be absolutely delighting! It is truly magical! The dancers are excellent, the costumes and sets are beautiful and of course the music is classic!

The venue is great. The show was great. The kids in front, behind, and ask around that did not sit still for longer than 60 seconds as the parents wrestled them down. Kicking, beating on seats, acting like animals and the parents were pretty much oblivious ruined our experience. Maybe a performance that sits all the kids together, away from responsible adults. Other than that it was great.

Not the best I’ve seen, and could use some improvement.

The ballet and orchestra performances were excellent and the costumes were lovely. The program itself was shorter than usual, the printed program had no information about the individual performers, we prefer going to Samford instead of the BJCC. Having said that…if you’ve never been, going to the Nutcracker is a tradition we have enjoyed for 35 years. My children enjoyed it when they were growing up and now my granddaughter is loving it. We have made wonderful memories there and whenever we hear Tchaikovsky’s music those memories come flooding back. I highly recommend The Nutcracker Ballet!

I could have watched it all over again! We Alabamians are SO blessed to have these wonderfully talented dancers in our state.

This was my first ballet- so precious! The kids were out of sync when they were hopping up and down in front of the man with the eye patch, which was really my only problem. I also really wanted to see more from eyepatch man! He was serving!!

First the positive: I have attended Ballet performances and heard symphonies all over the world, and I can honestly say that in my opinion both are among the best I've ever heard. Had no idea that we had such hidden talent in Birmingham. I can't wait for Gissele bought tickets the second they went on sale and if it is performed anywhere near the level of the Nutcracker, I will be buying two season tickets next season. Finally, the negative: The only thing that kept this from being a 5 STAR review was that the no eating and drinking policy inside the theater wasn't enforced. It is totally disrespectful for people to be munching chips, opening beer cans, etc. during a performance of this quality, and diminishes the enjoyment of a Superior show. PLEASE START ENFORCING THE POLICY no eating in the theater. This will also make it easier for the staff to clean the theater after everyone leaves, if they aren't having to pick up trash left behind.
