Best Buddy, Ritchie, and Bobber tribute show. You will not be disappointed.
I have been following John Mueller's Winter Dance Party since 1999. John, Ray and Linwood are the only people to be approved by the Holley, Valenzuela and Richardson Families play Buddy, Bopper and Ritchie and do they ever!!! It is just fun!! Happy and and feel good music with no drugs or alcohol, Just a good time. I would highly recommend them. Go and have a ball.
Seating left much to be desired. Packed way to tight. Felt like a COVID fest. I sat next to a big person- a stranger and it was not comfortable. Everyone wore their jackets in - which also took up space. We were all seated in close tight rows. Would have felt much better if we were spread out a bit. It is a big place - why squish everyone into a smaller space. Those that were at the front tables were spread out appropriately. The tables were sparsely populated. I will not go to another venue of this sort at the Mayo Civic Center.
Music was excellent and the players looked and sounded like them. Thank you!!
The singers were really good, they looked and sounded like the real thing. I didn't like that they really squeeze the seats together so your touching the person next to you the whole show. I also wish they would have shown more real old pictures and or played something from the actual night to make it more nostalgic.
The best tribute show we have been to. Loved every minute of the music. It was dead on and made me feel 14 again! Excellent show. I want to see it again.
John Mueller's Winter Dance Party was a high quality trip back to the youth of the audience who thoroughly enjoyed the singers and musicians who shared the music of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper. Nostalgic fun. Highly recommended.
I've seen WDP twice now. I would definitely go again! Great show and awesome music!!!
The show was great. John does a terrific Buddy Holly. The streets of Akron are a total disaster due to repairs, and there was no warning or directions concerning that. Some system should be in place to help avoid the chaos of Akron's poor civil engineer's planning disaster. Still, the show and the venue was really good.
Second time we have seen the show. Not as good as the first time but was still a great show. There was a different Ritchie than the first time we seen the show. I preferred the first but this one sang okay. The Big Bopper was about as funny as any performer I have seen. Great tribute. My all time favorite was Buddy Holly. He brought back so many great memories. I would go see this show again.
