Comedian Willie Barcena recently shot his first one hour special, Deal With It, at the El Portal Theatre which will air May 2009 on Comedy Central. Barcena grew up in East L.A. and it is his people skills, his street-smart wit, along with his mother's "just use common sense, Dummy!" which enable Barcena to connect with a wide array of cultures, yet his performances are able to maintain pride and cultural awareness without perpetuating any Latino stereotypes. He has also appeared eleven times on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, as well as Moesha, The Wayans Brothers, Galavision's Loco Slam, Que Locos and Funny is Funny. In addition to performing, Willie writes on a regular basis. He performed in and wrote a one-man show called Cry Like a Man and has done script writing for the Nickelodeon television show, The Brothers Garcia. Barcena was also a host of the Willie, D-Lo and Trejo Morning Show on Infinity Broadcasting's Sacramento affiliate station, KSFM 102.5 Hip-Hop and R&B radio.

Was in Vegas for the U2 convert on Saturday and seen That Willie was at the Laugh Factory and had to see him again. As usual he was hilarious!! Can’t wait to see him when he comes to LA.
I give Willie Barcenas 5 stars and HOB 1. Willie Barcenas was great!! A fire alarm kept going off like 3-4 times, no one ever addressed the issue, even when Mr Barcenas asked himself. The flashing lights were never turned off causing me to get a headache. Mr Barcnas was a great sport and continued with his shows. The HOB management should have addressed this issue immediately.
My husband and I were at Saturday night's show for Willie Barcena and the fire alarm ruined the show for us. Nothing was done about it that night. There were flashing lights and alarms going off throughout the show. We spent a lot of money that night on tickets, drinks, and food at your establishment and it was a horrible experience. I tried looking for a manager that night and was unable to locate one. Even Willie was asking where the management was.
Witty and hilarious comedian. This is our fifth time seeing his show.
It far exceeded my expectations, was laughing ?? so much I teared up tru out the show
Great and funny show, interacts with the crowd. I will definitely go to more of his shows.
It was a really good show. We were fully entertained for 2 1/2 hours. The bar was very accessible. The venue was small, but had good views all around. Opening acts kept us entertained Willie Bárcena was hilarious!
I find Willie very funny and I enjoy his jokes. With that said, I found his set lacked structure and flow. The randomness took away from the enjoyment... there is no reason to bad-mouth other comics, just do your thing. He also struggled with hecklers, to the point he threatened to leave the show.
Started off strong then quickly sank. We left early. Guess who I won't be seeing again?
