WILD CHILD IN CONCERT:
Austin-based indie darlings Wild Child have quickly risen the ranks with their spirited, feel-good sound and the charming vocal interplay of dual vocalists Kelsey Wilson and Alexander Beggins. On tour the band treats ticket buyers to a rousing concert experience rooted in first-rate musicianship, combining violin, banjo, ukulele, and horns to fantastic effect. Whether they're getting fans bouncing with the brightly whistled chorus of "Crazy Bird" or slowing things down with the heartfelt "Pillow Talk", Wild Child always brings a vibrant energy to the stage that leaves ticket buyers feeling inspired.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Alexander Beggins and Kelsey Wilson started penning songs together during their time playing in the touring band The Migrant. They sketched tunes on a ukulele in the back of the tour van as the group traversed the country, and by the time they returned to Austin they already had enough material for an album. The band's 2011 debut album Pillow Talk was a blog sensation that attracted the attention of indie legend Ben Kweller, who produced their 2013 sophomore album The Runaround. That album was a huge critical success, earning an 8/10 from PopMatters and landing a track on NPR's Top Ten Songs of 2013 ("Living Tree"). Since then they've performed on the late-night TV circuit and wowed audiences at festivals around the country, drumming up excitement among fans for their upcoming shows.
Was one of the best shows I have seen all year!! Wild Child put on a show to be remember.
Everyone in the band was so nice to the audience. I had so much fun!! My fiancé didn’t know them well before the show and he enjoyed all the way at the point that he’s now sharing their music. I just wish it was a bit longer
Wild Child is always a 2 thumbs up show. Fabulous energy and chill interactions with the crowd. I see them every time they come to town.
I am a fairly new fan of Wild Child, having just recently discovered them. They are amazing musicians with an incredibly engaging and fun live show. I say that with the knowledge of two shows, so far! One in Durham, NC and the other in Charlotte.
The Teragram Ballroom was the perfect venue to host a small but mind-blowing show from Wild Child and their opening acts. Awesome and unforgettable concert!
Amazing albums! I love all the songs and the members of the band are always so interactive with the crowd. Their fans also sing along to all the songs, creating a great aura for the concert.
SUSTO, the opening act, was spectacular. They did an amazing job firing up the crowd for Wild Child. Chelsea and Alex really know how to connect with their crowd. It was one of the best shows i've ever seen. Being so close that i could touch the stage was icing on the cake.
If you have the opportunity to see this band, jump on it. They rule. Especially live.
This was my second time watching Wild Child live and they surpassed all of my expectations both times. The music speaks for itself, and the band is so playful and enthusiastic that they are a joy to watch. I think everyone who leaves their shows leaves with a heart full of love.
My second concert at port city and the best yet. Great performance.
