Confusion and a Little Stress
by Donna on 1/4/22Legacy Arena at The BJCC - BirminghamI had purchased tickets for my husband and my parents as part of a Christmas gift. My mom has mobility challenges and has a scooter, so I selected a handicap, a companion, and the two regular seats beside those in one of boxes upstairs. When we arrived we went to our section only to find it closed. We wandered around until we happened upon someone who worked on the suite level. She was very nice and said they had moved us, but had not notified us. She had trouble finding where we were supposed to be, we walked all over the venue. She located another person who said she would seat us (she was not very nice). She initially said that my Mom would have to sit alone in the handicap area while the rest of us sat in seats many rows away (the look of panic on my Mom's face and the "well that's all I can do" response almost had me in tears). Our original seats came with dining that was right with the seats. The new area, while it came with dining, was too far away from the seats for my parents (around the bend, down an elevator, and down a hall). With all of the confusion, even though we arrived very early, we missed the pre-game activities and the start of the game. I realize that this was one of the first events since reopening, but it really put a damper on something we were all really excited to experience.
