This show/experience was basically a live version of the The Read podcast. At times it felt like it required a lot of familiarity with the topics, so you would have to be knowledgeable about current topics in pop culture to fully appreciate it. Because this was a live show, I was expecting some visual aids, like projected photos, video clips or just anything that would make the experience feel more interactive and to provide context for people who may not be familiar with a particular topic. But they didn't have that, so you really had to pay attention and listen closely. The vibe was very low-energy and I felt like I paid $60 to listen to the podcast, which was still entertaining because Crissle and Kid Fury are very funny.
I think it would be cool if they made it more like a SHOW show and included more audience participation with maybe a trivia game or something to make the experience more unique. Or maybe if they brought out a surprise guest, like Issa Rae, for example.
I really liked the music they played before Crissle and Kid Fury came out. That part was probably the highest energy.
Overall, it was decent and got me to leave the house.
