What a fun way to watch some classic movies. This is the second movie with a live orchestra that I have seen and I've already bought tickets for third. Safe to say I'm obsessed. There is something about live music that even perfect surround sound can't beat. The Atlanta Symphony was amazing and the venue is comfortable.
I always enjoy going to the ASO especially for the movies on concert. It is such a a different experience from seeing a movie at home or at the theater.
The Princess Bride is a perfect movie. That being said I was blown away at the way the soundtrack had been rescored for an orchestra. The sounds effects were perfect as well. The director's introduction was quite funny and I believe this was the perfect way to introduce young children to the symphony.
Seeing The Princess Bride on the ‘big screen’ accompanied by the ASO renewed my delight in watching this comedic fairy tale. I had viewed the movie only on DVD since the early 2000s when it was given to my elementary-school-aged daughter for her birthday. My daughter is now 26 and attended the performance with me (and my husband and adult son who are both musicians). The timing of the orchestra was awesome— I would momentarily forget the music was separate from the movie reel!
Loved how the blending of live music with the movie on screen was done - a truly immersive experience! And The Princess Bride is an all time favorite movie as well!
I have never been to anything like this before and the Princess Bride is one of my all time favorite films. To experience the score performed live was mesmerizing and so, so fun ! 10/10 would recommend. The quality was amazing and really enjoyed the exceptional conducting and the performance.
What a fun evening! The orchestra was outstanding and seeing the Princess Bride on the big screen for the first time was fantastic. Will definitely attend another movie/concert in the future.
The orchestra was so good there were times you forgot it was a live performance. The music synching to the action was perfect. Having the live orchestra made the times there was no music much more intense.
The movie was even BETTER with the ASO! What a magical experience!! Bravo!
First I’m so glad we paid for valet parking in advance. It was so nice to step out of our car and into the venue with no stress. Attendants at the doors were pleasant, the ones who helped at concessions were all very professional. We really liked our usher but I did not catch her name. We were in balcony seats house right and our usher was so sweet! I think her name started with an “A”. Getting to see the princess bride in a room filled with other princess bride fans and then the live Orchestra made it absolutely stupendous.
