The Darkness Tickets

I knew of their most popular song, but the entire hour set was nothing short of amazing; they had the crowd amped up, engaged, and cheering. My wife and I were captivated and can't wait to keep an eye out for future concerts.

I only recently found UK's The Darkness (probably the same way alot of Americans recently did - through Taylor Hawkins' memorial tribute), but I now consider myself a hardcore fan. I just wish I found them earlier so I could have gone to many more shows! The boys put on a very energetic concert Sunday night. They're all amazing musicians and entertainers, and Justin as the frontman adds plenty of charisma, humor and audience interaction. The show was part of the USA leg of the 20th anniversary tour for Permission To Land...Again and was completely sold out. Their most recognizable hit from the album initially released in 2003 is I Believe in a Thing Called Love. Before playing the song, Justin asks the audience to put away their phones and just be in the moment. As far as I could tell, people did just that and the energy in the room was enormous as people bounced along to his unique voice (which spans 5 octaves). They're back in Europe for now, but please do check them out, including Justin's increasingly popular YouTube channel, "Justin Hawkins Rides Again."I promise you will find something you like!

One of the greatest rock bands of all time at a legendary club. Absolutely perfect from start to finish

I’ve been to probably 350-400 shows in my 48 years, and that was amazing. The showmanship, the crowd banter, the skill and the songs made this a show I’ll never forget. If you have a chance to see the Darkness before you die, you should take it. They rock!

I had been told that The Darkness put on a good show, and would be very energetic. This was an extraordinary understatement. From the opening chords of Black Shuck through the finale they absolutely blew the doors of 9:30 Club and had the crowd in it the whole way. Justin Hawkins was electric, and the whole band were in lock step, delivering the songs just as crisply as they were on the album. I’d go this show again and again if I could-find them and go see it!!

My daughter and me started tuning into Justin Hawkins after the Tayler Hawkins tribute in London. We immediately became fans of The Darkness and their body of work. We had the best time rocking out with them at the Ace of Spades and CANNOT wait to see them live again. I had read in another review that they were late for this show and that is unfortunately 100 percent not true. They had an opening band (The Commancheros) prior and then came on at their scheduled time. If you have never seen The Darkness do so. Justin and crew are AWESOME. Justin is one of the best frontmen of a band I have seen in a long while. He immediately had us in the palm of his hand.

The band was great as always but it was way too packed in there. Oversold the room it was kind of hard to enjoy
