Albion Josiah gave a fantastic show. The only down side was the room was too small for comfort.
The AMAZING vocal talents of Mr. Albion Josiah were on full display! Every song sung was a fresh, original arrangement…”Summertime”, “Ava Maria”, “Strange Fruit (with haunting references to George Floyd, etc.) “Made Me Do For Love What I Would Not Do, etc. Mr. Josiah can hit and carry the highest notes!!!! NEVER MISS THE CHANCE TO HEAR HIM SING!!!!!!! Plus he’s such an incredibly nice person to talk to!!!!
I had not known about the performance until I saw the announcement on a dance group board. I thought it was wonderful. I loved the energy of the performers and the crowd. I was confused on where to enter the venue. There were two events going on regarding dance near that area, and I initially went to the wrong location. Other than just having the door light on, some sort of A frame on the corner, or someone placed at the intersection to direct people would have been helpful. The program was a bit confusing as I thought the student's piece was part of the Atlanta group, and it was the third item in the program, but was the second in the performance. Also, I would have liked to have known that we were doing a giving /blessing at the end of the performance. I would have gladly given something, had I known it was going to happen. As I am not familiar with your culture I didn't know what expect. I only know in my country that giving/ blessings are given at the beginning of the performance, not at the end. I loved the performances, and would love to attend next year.
Reality...Of how & why one, encounter into.the life style of their life
I attended the Confession of A Hoe performance and it was great.
Event Venue was great: intimate great sound. From the reception entrance throughout the performance a very positive experience. The artist/performer Rick James really connects to the crowd and had the audience singing along. Very relaxing environment with great music.
I enjoyed every moment of the show. Everyone was excellent and committed to their performance. Excellent job!!
I usally don't go to concert or shows, but when i saw that my sister/my friend le'andria was going to be there i decided to take a chance. I,m so glad i did.. what an amazing Night.
The choir was off the chain Dr.Clark Joseph had that choir off the chain.Speaking of chain… when they held up the chain and the sound of it dropping to the floor OMG!!! ???????? The guest artist both literally Rocked the entire house. Other than having to sit in the middle of the row I had a wonderful time !!! I like were I was in the orchestra near the front row F I wished I had an end seat Everone !!! Awesome event.
this was such an impactful presentation. The song selection, the dances, the singers, and the choir were all top-notch. The interwoven, historical vignettes were thoughtful and insightful. It is clear that everyone in the production was passionate about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and his mission to have equality for all God's children. Amen, amen, and amen!
Excellent choir, dancers, characters, musicians, guest artists, salute, background posters!!! Excellent excellent excellent!!! Great job everyone!!!
Good experience overall. Loved singing talent to include Le’Andria Johnson. Event was 20 minutes or so late getting started, and podium for the MC and partially hidden from my seat. Podium needs to be more front and center.
The performance was outstanding. I thoroughly enjoyed the appropriate musical selections from the 200 voice choir. It was truly a memorable evening.
Very nice concert! Great music and overall production value. Only downside was the length - approximately 3 hours long. Could have shortened some of the pre-music introductory dialogue to make it shorter. No way can it be said that we didn’t get our monies worth! Can’t wait for next years show!
Sustainments 1. Value is worth ticket price 2. Great venue 3. Big Artist exposure for Dallas Improvements 1. Time Management-started/ended late 2. No Intermission-needed for a 3.5 hour show 3. Souvenirs could be sold before event starts 4. TBAAL memberships could be sold before event starts 5. Poor Audio -low microphones and sound system humming
My goddaughter and I attended the African American Cinema in Color, Black & White. The movies were amazing and thought provoking and the talk back with the authors was very insightful. I always like attending events at TBAAL because they produce some of the best productions.
The venue is very cool for an intimate jazz experience. However I purchased a table for 4 but was seated in 4 random seats in the back corner by the door. Clearly the seats were set up as some random overflow. Was told they didn’t know why Ticketmaster sold the tickets like that. Apparently table for 4 was not a thing and you needed to purchase a table for 6 to actually get seated at a table even if you had 4 in your party. It was pretty horrible seating and get like if the fire marshal had shown up the venue would have failed because of our seats.
Martha Burks and her band were awesome. Her vocals are amazing and her band is so talented. We would love to see them more often.
The environment was perfect for the night. The host was personable and sweet! The speakers were right on time with their message! The workers that helped make the show run smoothly were amazing! The music tied it all together!
The space was too tight and the room was too hot@ I paid double and the Apple Cider was not cold the space was too tight and again it was Tooooo HOT. I recommend that cold bottles of water be provided to all guest until you get air fixed and a decent fan.
