Tennessee Volunteers Men’s Basketball History
The University of Tennessee men's basketball regularly makes noise in the SEC Tournament and NCAA Tournament, with some recent deep runs to their credit. Their marquee run came in 2010, when they made it all the way to the Elite Eight before falling to Michigan State in a one-point loss.
The Volunteers currently are coached by former longtime University of Texas head coach Rick Barnes, who took the job in Knoxville in 2015. After a rocky start, Barnes guided them to the NCAA Tournament in 2018, where they won a game before being bounced in the round of 32.?
The most successful NCAA tournament era for the Volunteers came in the ‘00s, when they made three straight tournaments (2006-2008) under Bruce Pearl, with both 2007 and 2008 ending with losses in the Sweet 16. Tennessee has sent luminaries to the pros, like Dale Ellis, Allan Houston, C.J. Watson, and the legendary Bernard King, who joined the New York Knicks in the ‘80s.

Great time. Easily was taken into the arena great game and experience.
We appreciated the communication regarding change in game time. Also, event staff was very helpful in getting fans in out of the bitter cold when we arrived. Great venue! Great game! Go Vols!
My family and I thoroughly enjoyed the TN v. ole miss game. From start to finish it was electrifying.
I was so far from the court. Might as well stay home. It is treacherous to try and climb to the rows that are so high. Spend thousands and see the game or save money and stay home
We always LOVE seeing the Tennessee vols playing. The environment is so high and gets you involved the game. Looking forward to seeing more games in the future! Go VOLS!
Paid 20$ for a nosebleed ticket. Sat courtside with Heath Shuler and co. Instead. Great experience. Nicest college stadium in America hands down. Go Vols.
It was awesome the seats were awesome the prices were right on the spot loved it
Unbelievable game, great venue! Only issue is parking.
We brought our great-grandsons, ages 10 and 7, to their first UT basketball game. Turned out to be a great game for kids since there was lots of scoring! They had a blast! Go Vols!
Overall great experience, score didn't end like we hoped, but seats were great & so was the venue.
