Tape Face Live
With his electric-shock hairstyle, striped shirt and strip of black tape across his mouth, the performer known as Tape Face can't help but leave an impression on audiences. Yet what makes this modern-day master of mime and comedy truly remarkable is the wonder, whimsy and weirdness that fill his one-of-a-kind performances.
Tape Face's appearances on America's Got Talent in 2016 introduced wider audiences to this New Zealand talent. Tape Face is the creation of Sam Wills, who began his performing career as an aspiring clown while a teenager. Drawing from his love of circus, vaudeville and prop comedy, he developed a character that took the art of mime in bold new directions. A hit at the Melbourne Comedy Festival in 2008, Wills' show The Boy with Tape on His Face marked the first major success for the stage persona that he'd later present at such events as the BBC Comedy Prom at London's Royal Albert Hall.
Shortening his name to Tape Face, Wills became one of the standout performers on season 11 of America's Got Talent, advancing to the finals without ever speaking a word. The viral success of his performances led to his first headlining appearances on the Las Vegas Strip. After two hit limited engagements, he began a multiyear residency at Harrah's Las Vegas in 2018. Visitors to the specially built House of Tape will discover a show like nothing else on the Strip.
Tape Face Background
A modern-day master of mime and comedy, Tape Face is the silent stage alter ego of New Zealand's Sam Wills. Wills' signature creation began in his youth in the town of Timaru, where he studied the art of clowning and other performance traditions. After moving to the Christchurch area and establishing himself in New Zealand's comedy scene, he combined elements of circus performing, vaudeville, and prop and shock comedy to create his unique brand of entertainment.
In 2008, Wills introduced Australian audiences to the instantly indelible title character of The Boy with Tape on His Face, a show that became a breakout at the Melbourne Comedy Festival. He also gained fans in the U.K. when he performed the character on TV shows and at live events such as the BBC Comedy Prom in London's Royal Albert Hall and the iconic Royal Variety Performance.
Tape Face's hilarious routines and feats on season 11 of America's Got Talent made Wills' creation a viral phenomenon and an international sensation. On the heels of his AGT performances and his live and TV appearances in many countries, Wills came to Las Vegas for two hit engagements at Harrah's Las Vegas in 2017. The following year, he began his residency at the specially built House of Tape.

Laughing from the beginning to the end. Went with my son 14yo and he loved it too
Excellent value and entertainment! He keeps the crowd engaged and part of the show. Highly recommended
Very talented and very funny without saying a word. Small theater and he really involves the audience to participate in the show. Excellent show. I would recommend that everyone go see Tape Face.
Seen him 3 years ago so was looking forward to seeing him again. Very fun show and this time took my teens. A bit disappointed that there was no new material after so long but perhaps Vegas is all about repeating the hits. Was worth it regardless. Good small venue so you are up close and personal regardless of where you sit.
WE HAD A GREAT TIME. SHOW WAS MOSTLY CLEAN AND VERY FUNNY
It was the funniest show I‘ve seen for a long time. Tape Face is great. The active interaction with the audience is great.
Awesome show, enjoyed every moment! He is incredibly funny and creative!
I didn’t know what to expect! It was the best show I’ve seen in years. Very unique. A must see!
The show was so entertaining! The way that Tape Face can get folks to do just what he needs them to do for a bit is genius. Everyday household items and serious cleverness makes for a great show. Highly recommended!!
I watched all of his performances on agt and loved every minute of the show.
Tape face was excellent! Fun for the whole family. Loved how interactive the show was, it was incredibly fun and entertaining.
We laughed for the entire show... I saw him on AGT. and was very impressed... My friend who didnt know who he was, said i would definately see him again.!!
I had high hopes for this performance but I found the best stuff was already done on AGT. The show relied on audience participation to make the bits funny. The female sidekick brought a lot to the show since she could speak. I’m really mixed on this one.
We never heard of tape face, and really had no idea what to expect. My husband wanted to go so we did and we were pleasantly surprised. We laughed and really enjoyed the show. You never know what’s coming next so it’s entertaining. If you’re looking for something different, and a few laughs, check this one out
From the simplest things like a stapler, to envelopes, balls, balloons …. You name it! It was outrageously funny. The interactive parts with the audience made it the best! (You never know how the people are going to react) Taped face picked on a lady that had the same horizontal striped sweater like him, and she was so serious…that was funny! At the end she was laughing too.
My boyfriend won the dance contest so my family thought the show was amazing!!!
Talented comedian who doesn't even need to talk to have the whole crowd laughing. Great show!
Well....we missed the show. Took my family from NJ to MGM Springfield Massachusetts to see the show. I lost brakes near Danbury, had to have AAA tow car back to NJ. I eventually got a car service to take us the other hour or so to Springfield. We arrived at 9:45, lol. The best part is that I saw him walking in the casino. 5 stars!!
This was a great show. I went with my wife and younger daughters. We all enjoyed it very much. The interaction with the audience was hilarious.
