Tape Face Live
With his electric-shock hairstyle, striped shirt and strip of black tape across his mouth, the performer known as Tape Face can't help but leave an impression on audiences. Yet what makes this modern-day master of mime and comedy truly remarkable is the wonder, whimsy and weirdness that fill his one-of-a-kind performances.
Tape Face's appearances on America's Got Talent in 2016 introduced wider audiences to this New Zealand talent. Tape Face is the creation of Sam Wills, who began his performing career as an aspiring clown while a teenager. Drawing from his love of circus, vaudeville and prop comedy, he developed a character that took the art of mime in bold new directions. A hit at the Melbourne Comedy Festival in 2008, Wills' show The Boy with Tape on His Face marked the first major success for the stage persona that he'd later present at such events as the BBC Comedy Prom at London's Royal Albert Hall.
Shortening his name to Tape Face, Wills became one of the standout performers on season 11 of America's Got Talent, advancing to the finals without ever speaking a word. The viral success of his performances led to his first headlining appearances on the Las Vegas Strip. After two hit limited engagements, he began a multiyear residency at Harrah's Las Vegas in 2018. Visitors to the specially built House of Tape will discover a show like nothing else on the Strip.
Tape Face Background
A modern-day master of mime and comedy, Tape Face is the silent stage alter ego of New Zealand's Sam Wills. Wills' signature creation began in his youth in the town of Timaru, where he studied the art of clowning and other performance traditions. After moving to the Christchurch area and establishing himself in New Zealand's comedy scene, he combined elements of circus performing, vaudeville, and prop and shock comedy to create his unique brand of entertainment.
In 2008, Wills introduced Australian audiences to the instantly indelible title character of The Boy with Tape on His Face, a show that became a breakout at the Melbourne Comedy Festival. He also gained fans in the U.K. when he performed the character on TV shows and at live events such as the BBC Comedy Prom in London's Royal Albert Hall and the iconic Royal Variety Performance.
Tape Face's hilarious routines and feats on season 11 of America's Got Talent made Wills' creation a viral phenomenon and an international sensation. On the heels of his AGT performances and his live and TV appearances in many countries, Wills came to Las Vegas for two hit engagements at Harrah's Las Vegas in 2017. The following year, he began his residency at the specially built House of Tape.

We had a great time and would recommend this to anyone of all ages
He literally makes something out of nothing, uses the audience for every act which with that you get 100% improv so it’s absolutely hilarious. Fun fun night
What a great, fun time we had. Tape Face is so funny, the State Theatre was such a great place for the show. We all (2 kids and 2 adults) enjoyed the environment, the seats, the show very much.
This show was fantastic and extremely interactive. Would recommend Tape Face to everyone.
The show was fantastic. A lot of audience interaction, and my friend and I were laughing throughout the entire show.
Tape Face brings non stop laugh out loud fun by being clever. I would recommend this show to anyone but especially to those looking for good clean fun! Stay Weird Tape Face! :D
Without talking and using only minimal props Tape Face had the audience laughing throughout the performance. Amazing ability to interact with the audience. A must see for all of us weird people.
Great show! Audience participation is highly a must as many individuals are pulled on stage. I laughed so hard I was crying.
Probably the best show on the strip. Tape Face was extremely funny and a lot of audience participation. A MUST SEE!
This was so much fun. Unique and a personal experience with audience. Highly recommend. Did not care for the sales of merchandise at beginning of show. Other guy was ok.
This show was fantastic! I was crying from laughing so hard. I recommended it to everyone I saw after the show. I will 100% go back!!
Wow, what a fun show. Absolutely hysterical. He doesn't miss a beat the whole night.
We really enjoyed the show. Tape Face was every bit as entertaining as he was when I first saw him on Americas Got Talent. We definitely laughed a lot. I we even one of the lucky people to get taken on stage during the show. Gotta have that bald guy for the gag about the hair dryer. A lot of the bits are ones that you've seen before, either on AGT, or if you've stumbled across some of his videos on youtube. That said, they're still all very funny. The interaction with the audience really is what makes it so funny. The one issue I really had with the show was that there was a 2nd person being Tape Face. There were moments when the original Tape Face would walk out of the theater, and then someone dressed the same would walk on stage. I thought initially it was just for the sight gag, walking out thru the main entrance to the theater and then immediately on stage. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. The 2nd Tape Face would actually do some of the bits and he was not nearly as entertaining as the original. The characterization that makes Tape Face so funny just didn't carry over. I have to assume the reason for the 2nd person is because it's a long show for someone to be on stage all alone and not able to drink water, but I would have rather had a short intermission or something than have the lesser Tape Face. All in all though, it's a great show. Hopefully he continues to develop material, because I'd love to see him again, but once you've seen the gags, they aren't nearly as good the second time around.
I enjoyed this performance immensely! We did the meet and greet with Sam (Tapeface,)and he was very engaging and gracious. The show was well conceived and hilarious! I will definitely follow his career and attend many more shows.
The show and ticket experience was great and easy.
The show was about 1.5 hours. The first thirty minutes was a skit where Tape Faces companions try to sell you merchandise through a skit they put on. The last hour Tape Face actually performs and we were laughing the entire time. The audience gets pulled onto stage and interacts during each skit. After the show we got to take a picture with Tape Face for free. It's a realtively small stage and open seating so I recommend getting in line early so that you can get the seat you want. Overall great show!
We went to see Tapeface for my husband's 50th birthday. We went to the special Meet and Greet before the show and he was a really nice guy! We were not sure what to expect, but the show was absolutely hilarious and the best show we saw in Vegas! Would definitely recommend!!!
Great show, and a great meet and greet! Can’t wait to see his show again! A show that you can take the whole family to. Thank you for such and amazing, fun, hilarious show!
Very interactive, best show i’ve seen on the strip! funny and fun, had a great time! Worth the meet and greet
