Tape Face Live
With his electric-shock hairstyle, striped shirt and strip of black tape across his mouth, the performer known as Tape Face can't help but leave an impression on audiences. Yet what makes this modern-day master of mime and comedy truly remarkable is the wonder, whimsy and weirdness that fill his one-of-a-kind performances.
Tape Face's appearances on America's Got Talent in 2016 introduced wider audiences to this New Zealand talent. Tape Face is the creation of Sam Wills, who began his performing career as an aspiring clown while a teenager. Drawing from his love of circus, vaudeville and prop comedy, he developed a character that took the art of mime in bold new directions. A hit at the Melbourne Comedy Festival in 2008, Wills' show The Boy with Tape on His Face marked the first major success for the stage persona that he'd later present at such events as the BBC Comedy Prom at London's Royal Albert Hall.
Shortening his name to Tape Face, Wills became one of the standout performers on season 11 of America's Got Talent, advancing to the finals without ever speaking a word. The viral success of his performances led to his first headlining appearances on the Las Vegas Strip. After two hit limited engagements, he began a multiyear residency at Harrah's Las Vegas in 2018. Visitors to the specially built House of Tape will discover a show like nothing else on the Strip.
Tape Face Background
A modern-day master of mime and comedy, Tape Face is the silent stage alter ego of New Zealand's Sam Wills. Wills' signature creation began in his youth in the town of Timaru, where he studied the art of clowning and other performance traditions. After moving to the Christchurch area and establishing himself in New Zealand's comedy scene, he combined elements of circus performing, vaudeville, and prop and shock comedy to create his unique brand of entertainment.
In 2008, Wills introduced Australian audiences to the instantly indelible title character of The Boy with Tape on His Face, a show that became a breakout at the Melbourne Comedy Festival. He also gained fans in the U.K. when he performed the character on TV shows and at live events such as the BBC Comedy Prom in London's Royal Albert Hall and the iconic Royal Variety Performance.
Tape Face's hilarious routines and feats on season 11 of America's Got Talent made Wills' creation a viral phenomenon and an international sensation. On the heels of his AGT performances and his live and TV appearances in many countries, Wills came to Las Vegas for two hit engagements at Harrah's Las Vegas in 2017. The following year, he began his residency at the specially built House of Tape.

Funny..weird...and unexpected. The show is intimate and everybody is a potential target! But in a good way. And tape face has a great singing voice. Don’t miss this show! And if ya did why didn’t you listen???
Absolutely a must see. He involves the audience continuously and every part is as funny as the next. A great show.
Waste of Vegas time & $. Unless your drunk or bored this was so NOT worth the $.
From the beginning, the entire team involved the audience right away. We bought the VIP tickets and were able to enter earlier than general admission and each given a goodie bag (I won't reveal the contents to keep it a surprise ??). Different audience members were chosen to "be a part of the show" which was quite entertaining and hilariously funny, so I hope you get a good group of people. I laughed so hard my stomach hurt. At the end, people got the opportunity to get their picture taken with Tape Face, which was really awesome of them. The only, I guess, concern if you want to call it that is that there really wasn't any assigned seating, which is fine, and since we paid for VIP tickets, we got first pick of our seats anyway. However, you can still get front row seats with a general admission ticket if seats are available up front. A suggestion... give the VIPs the opportunity to get their pictures taken first instead of waiting in line at the end. After all, we did pay for the VIP experience.
Unique comedy with lots of audience participation. Tape Face is super with the on-stage “volunteers.” Silence is golden. Go see it!
We booked the event with 4 other couples and had a blast! We laughed the entire show. The audience interaction was perfect and not stressful to those participating. We are still talking about the show!!
My husband and I have seen a lot of Vegas shows. Tape face is by far the best I have ever seen. My face hurt from smiling the whole time. The fun is fast paced and there isn't a moment to get bored.
Very funny! Lots of audience participation. Laughed so hard I cried ??
The show was really good. Very audience interactive. My teenage children absolutely loved it. And so did my husband and I. Highly recommend seeing it.
This is the best show I have ever seen and I have seen a lot of shows in my lifetime. If I could give it a million stars I would. Tape face is awesome and hilarious. You are literally laughing from beginning to end. Everyone who hasn’t seen it must see it. I love how he interacts with the crowd and gets them on stage. He is the best ever. Love him! I would definitely watch it again.
I loved this show. Tape face was amazing and was able to keep the attention of the audience the full duration of the show. This show is very artistic and creative. Face tape is a must see show in Las Vegas and I would recommend it to everyone. It’s an intimate setting and tape face gets at least 30% of the audience up on stage to participate in the skit. Great show and the whole family enjoyed.
Saw the show with my 14-year old daughter and knew nothing about T1 or T2 debate. The TapeFace we saw, which I believe was T2, was absolutely hilarious. My daughter belly laughed the entire time and he had me in tears. Really great show that I would recommend 100%! Only "critique" would be the opening act. I wish it were more closely connected to the Tape concept vs typical magic tricks you could see anywhere.
Tape Face was so great! Was a really fun show, very interactive! Would definitely recommend!
Being a fan of Mr. Face as a result of AGT, it was great to see him in person. We really enjoyed it. The venue and stage are a little small, but that would be our only complaint.
Tapeface was fantastic! Love the interactive show! Seriously funny! Highly recommend seeing it !
The show is very interactive. It still amazes us that he does the whole show without saying a word. He interacts with the audience and gets them to get what he's trying to accomplish without saying one word of direction. Very entertaining and funny show.
Went to see Tape because of the appearances on America's Got Talent. Everyone in our party age 13 to 71 had a good time and laughed a lot!! I highly recommend this show for it's audience participation. Would have given it 5 stars if it were not for the cramped venue and uncomfortable seats.
For reasoned unexplained, Tape Face has someone dressed like him perform 1/3 of his show. Huge disappointment. I imagine it's taxing to do 6 shows a week, but if he's not able to do that, perhaps this is the business he should be in. We didn't pay $85 to see someone else.
This show is a MUST to see while you are in Vegas! You are in for a real treat and for some good laughs! There is never a dull moment from the time that you are in there before the show and during the show as well, duh. The audience participation is hands down awesome. My mom was pulled up on stage and it was the funniest moment of my life! No one can ever deny Tape Face, haha! Everyone at our show was such good sports! So, when you get these tickets, have an open mind, let loose, and just HAVE FUN! Having fun isn’t hard to do with this show!
