About
Switchfoot are a Grammy-winning rock band from San Diego, California. Formed in 1996 by brothers Jon and Tim Foreman and drummer Chad Butler, the group released three albums before gaining major label attention following several prominent syncs in the 2002 romantic drama A Walk to Remember. In 2003, Switchfoot released their breakout fourth album The Beautiful Letdown, which went triple-platinum behind the band’s first Hot 100-charting singles “Meant to Live” and “Dare You to Move.” Their 2005 follow-up, Nothing Is Sound, hit a career-peak No. 3 on the Billboard 200, and the band would log another three Top 10 albums with 2011’s Vice Verses, 2014’s Fading West and 2016’s Where the Light Shines Through. Additionally, Switchfoot have earned six No. 1s on the Top Christian Albums chart, and their 2009 effort Hello Hurricane nabbed the band’s first Grammy for Best Rock or Rap Gospel Album. In 2023, Switchfoot released The Beautiful Letdown (Our Version), a 20th anniversary re-recording via their self-run independent label, lowercase people records.

Switchfoot headed out on tour in July 2024. After kicking off at Skyla Credit Union Amphitheatre in Charlotte, North Carolina, the tour will cover much of the U.S. through October 2024, with an additional date scheduled for December.

First time for them playing the complete album and you forget how many awesome songs there were on this album. As an encore they played some great older songs too. The Tennessee Theater is a wonderful venue!

This was my second time watching them live, in preparation to bringing my nephew. And Jon, the lead singer, has always been so intentional about getting in the crowd and really appreciating the fans.

The band is amazing, the lyrics are so meaningful and they connected with the crowd so well, holding hands and singing in the middle of the crowd. My son and I were holding hands and swaying and dancing and smiling and giggling together. Near the end of the show, we looked at some merch and we were given a free hoodie and a free poster! These will remind me of this amazing experience. I love live music and switchfoot was an amazing show and experience! Highly recommend! <3

And if you are really fortunate, you get to enjoy it from a spot right on the barrier. Saturday night at Aura in Portland, ME was my 30th Switchfoot show and IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT!! It's probably in my top 5. The energy traveling back and forth between the band to the crowd was amazing. Switchfoot loves to connect with their fans and they have a wonderful community that has formed a family around them. I shared the night with my daughter and dear friends I've not seen in several years. What a gift!!
