My first Stoney LaRue show and I'll be back again. Great rhythm, brilliant guitars, thumping bass player and back beat drums sit this band comfortably in the pocket. Great sound, contagious energy: when the crowd sings most of your songs, YOU ARE WINNING. Female to male ratio had to be 3 (females) to 2 (males). If I lived in Big D, I would be at Lava Cantina frequently: amazing venue. Clint Music critic and foodie in Florida
Tony Brook, the opening act, was great. Soulful, original, and great guitar playing. Stony LaRue was ok. Floor(and head) rattling bass sound. Perhaps they fixed the sound later. Drummer was just ok; he seemed to play the same with each song. Lead guitarist was very good. I give the overall performance of Stony a C. Thanks for listening
Stoney Larue put on an excellent show. I was amazed at his ability on the guitar. I’ve been listening to him for a couple years and thought most of the picking was done by his lead guitarist but no; most of it is Stoney. I’d love to see him again. My only complaint is that there was no fiddle in the band. Also, Rick the merch dude was really cool.
If u are a country fan and love country music this is what u need to listen to he puts on a awesome show he is so nice also
What a perfect night. The smaller venue made for an intimate experience, I appreciated the music. What an awesome show put on by an amazing artist! Red Dirt all the way
As always Stoney puts on one hell of a show. The instrumental solos gave it a jazzy sexiness, Stoney's natural humor added a perfect flare, but it was the eyes closed man singing out his heart that captures me each and every time. Downside, he did play a lot of his new album, which not everyone knew...but from what I heard it's an awesome album.
Stoney LaRue was GREAT!! LOVE them! I didn't care to walk through the smoke filled casino to get to the concert, but I was happy to find that here was no smoking allowed in the concert area! My wine tasted like grape juice, like the Casino watered it down! So I had to switch to vodka, something with a little more kick!
I attend a number of concerts every year and this one was pretty much a big letdown; no passion. I like Stoney's music but there was no energy in the place. Crowd sat 99% of the time.Musically, they sounded great and all seem to be very talented. Stoney just doesn't have any stage presence. Icing on the cake was that he did not perform one encore during his less than 90 minute performance. Tickets were very inexpensive so maybe it's a "get what you pay for" concert. Certainly one of the worst concerts I've been to in 30 years. Wouldn't waste the time.
Stoney was fantastic - the band was fantastic!!! Had a wonderful time and will definitely be there to see him when he comes back!!!
