Nice variety of different things. Seats were comfortable. Music was nice volume, you could hear everything and everyone well. You could still talk to people beside you and think well.
Seats were great. Line was not long getting in. Grandchildren were given cowboy hats (free).
The event was a lot of fun, really awesome. Some of the clowns performance wasn’t appropriator children in my opinion ( suggestive dancing ) It was easy to get in with the tickets on the phone, no long lines. Ticketmaster was easy to book.
It was not as good as last year. Didn’t seem to have many professionals. Mike the clown did almost the same thing as last year. I was disappointed with most of it but I did have good seats.
The rodeo was fine. They wouldn't let people in the gates in time to get to your seats. Our group showed up in ample time but barely made it in the door, only to stand in the same until after 1930! 40 minutes we stood in one spot, then encountered one of the rudest ladys yelling at people who spent their hard earned money to come to this event. We really wanted the children to see the opening ceremony, and the show of patriotism, but missed all of it due to apparent disorganized manner in the ticket check in line. Standing face to face with no where to go in cold and flu season for over 40 minutes and not letting people in, in time to see all of the show. Salem has to do better!!
I try to go as often as I can and I love it every time. They make it fun for both people who like horses and people who don't enjoy horses as much.
We loved the show. I definitely recommend it for a family fun date!
Well I enjoyed the event however yeah, there was room for improvement. It would have been nice to know that purses no matter how small were not allowed in the event, we had to go back to the car to put it in the trunk. On another note the commentators were TOO LOUD especially since they had microphones and it was an enclosed space. There was too much wasted time between events. And when there was an event it was too short. It was like there wasn't enough people for the events themselves. I'd rather see this type of event outside, maybe some of the shortcomings like the volume and number of events would not have mattered. Overall, I would probably would attend again but be more aware and adjust accordingly.
Would definitely rate hire if there was some information before each event so you have an idea of how they score and what’s allowed. There’s no fan information regarding scoring or timing and it was difficult to understand the announcer just due to the speaker situation. I really think a scoreboard or any media to connect to true event would be a significant improvement and after 55 years of this event they should have this stuff available during the event.
