SHAMIR IN CONCERT:
Rising dance music sensation Shamir has quickly made a name for himself with his androgynous vocals, colorful music videos, and party-worthy live performances. The young singer’s genre-spanning sound oscillates between candy-coated electro and R&B-influenced pop, and his dynamic vocals are just as multi-faceted, blending soulful countertenor melodies with nimble rapping. At his live shows Shamir performs sassy tracks like “On the Regular” and “Call It Off” with an infectious energy, and audiences can’t help but dance along to his crisp beats, catchy hooks, and clever lyrics. Whether he’s twerking on stage or entering the crowd to hug concertgoers, Shamir always brings a vibrant energy to his performances that makes every show feel like the party of the century.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Shamir was born and raised in suburban Las Vegas, where his musician aunt exposed him to a wide range of musical influences from an early age. He got his first guitar at age 9 and began writing his own songs, and at age 16 he formed a punk band with a friend. The project was short-lived but Shamir’s solo demos soon found their way to label execs in New York City. He signed to Godmode records in 2014 and released his debut EP Northtown, a critically acclaimed collection of songs named after the Vegas neighborhood he grew up in. The record earned him another record deal, this time with XL Recordings, the venerable British label that helped launch such phenomenal successes as M.I.A., the xx, and Tyler, the Creator. Shamir made his debut on XL in late 2014 with the track “On the Regular”, a buoyant dance romp that sets the perfect tone for his highly anticipated debut album Ratchet.

I loved the entire concert, the crowd was wonderful and I think the venue was great too. All around amazing.
Shamir is truly unique and totally charming. Super fun to jam with him live.
I felt the the fact that the venue was small made an amazing connection between the audience and Shamir. It was fun and the set was REALLY GOOD! Also his openers were great
Shamir owned the jam packed crowd from the moment he sat foot on the stage. His falsetto was flawless and he seemed so at ease, almost effortless. He made every song sound like the record but also special with more bass and beat. The band jammed. Shamir even went into the crowd and I got a hug.
