The Sesame Street Live show in Shreveport, LA on 19 Sep 24 was amazing. The cast were amazing! The show was amazing. My grandchild LOVED it!
Unfortunately, I can’t say the same for the merchandise booth. When I checked out with my merchandise I was given a total. When I handed her my card and she handed it back, I asked if I could get a receipt. The lady looked annoyed that I asked and handed me the machine to enter my cell number to get texted a receipt. When I got the text with the receipt, it read a different total than I was told: merch: and the dollar amount, taxes: $0, and tip $6.50. I wasn’t asked if I wanted to give a tip or not. The next day I called the number on the receipt and was greeted with a recording that said “the charge on your credit card is for merchandise you bought at a concert”. If this isn’t why you are calling press a number to speak to a customer service representative. It was another message that said leave your name, phone number, and issue and we will calll you within 2 business days. Then the voice mail said the mailbox was full.
I would like to think it was an error and not done on purpose. Also, will $6.50 break my bank? No. But that’s not the point. There were a lot of families there. If it was intentional, knowing she wasn’t giving out receipts so people would know, that’s a lot of “tips” being made and this was ONE show. Does this happen at every show?
In the end did I have a great time with my grandchild? Absolutely. Would I go back and see the show again? Yes. Will I only take cash to these events in the future? For sure.
