Sammy’s B-Day Bash, LV
by TC on 10/7/24Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort - Las VegasGreat time, great music! Happy Birthday Sammy Hagar!
In the 1970s, Sammy Hagar made his first appearance in the American rock and roll scene with the band Montrose. Since then, he has launched a hugely successful solo career, which led to his most prominent role as the lead singer of the group Van Halen. This role eventually led him to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In 2008, Hagar formed a group called Chickenfoot, which began its tour after their album rose to #4 on the Billboard Top 100. Hagar’s Chickenfoot concerts have a high-energy party atmosphere, where audience members sing and dance along with songs from Hagar’s considerable repertoire. During his concert, Hagar mixes in old classics with new releases, giving audience members no shortage of nostalgia before launching into new jams, followed by a few more classics and so on. Many of his new songs are featured on "Chickenfoot," the premier album for the group, released in June 2009. In November 2012, Chickenfoot released a live album in a limited edition box-set that featured songs from Hagar, as well as other members of the band.
Hagar’s success began in the mid 1970s with his solo career, which spawned some of his most well-known singles, like "Red" and "I Can’t Drive 55." His solo career would lead to him become the replacement lead vocalist in the band Van Halen after David Lee Roth parted ways with with them in 1985. Hagar stayed in this role for the next 10 years and released singles, like "Runaround" and "Poundcake." Hagar is known throughout the past three decades as a Rock and Roll icon, giving ticket buyers a blast from the past, as well as a look into the present during his concerts.
Great time, great music! Happy Birthday Sammy Hagar!
Was so excited to hear a bunch of Van Halen songs like all of his recent concerts. Instead he played a couple of VH songs and a whole bunch of his own songs that you could tell the crowd was not impressed with. We actually left early, very disappointing.
Was under assumption there would be an opening band there was not. Show was short and seemed rushed. Limited production. I attend a lot of shows, yes I guess I was disappointed but still love Sammy
Went to both Vegas shows along with pool party and enjoyed spending time with fellow Red Rocker Fans and everyone was welcome and seemed to be enjoying the event, saw t shirts from all different concerts and the Van Halen faithful were there. At 77 Sammy shows no sign of slowing down. Watching Sam and Michael doing Dreams brought a tear to my eye with a fond memory of the 5150 tour. There’s Only One Way To Rock.
I had a great time. I'm just bummed that, I never get a chance to be up front at the events. Thank you, T
We saw Sammy for the Vegas Birthday Bash both nights. Never being able to get to Cabo, this was a crazy and wonderful opportunity. This was a birthday gift for my husband who is a massive fan. My expectations were high but I had no idea what an amazing experience it would be! Sammy played different songs both nights and he went deep! He played classics like “Red” and “Bad Motor Scooter” which was phenomenal. He also played favorites “I can’t drive 55” and “Right Now.” It is incredible how good they sounded live. Yet, what I love most about Sammy is he is so relatable. He talks to the crowd and truly acknowledges his fans. He plays flawlessly with the band and they read each other’s minds. Anthony was awesome. He paid tribute to Eddie and even did a solo of “Somebody Get Me A Doctor.” Vic Johnson is an absolute genius with the guitar and has the chemistry with Sammy and Anthony that few would understand. We missed Jason Bonham but Kenny Arnoff was the backbone both nights. He didn’t miss a beat. Both concerts were unique and they didn’t play the same set either night. It is what Sammy’s Birthday Bash is all about!! All in all an amazing experience and we won’t forget it. Rock on Red Heads!
We had a really great time. Sammy is still rockin' and sounded great. Guitar sounded great. We missed Bonham (his first miss due to family emergency) but the emergency drummer was great. The energy was high and sounded great. Loved it!!
Incredible show. Forget that Sammy is 76. Forget that Joe Satriani is 68. Forget that Jason Bonham had a family emergency and Kenny Aronoff flew in at 6am the day of the show here in Cincinnati. The boys absolutely crushed the entire set. Kenny Aronoff rehearsed that morning and they played the entire set. Sammy signed merch and whatever people threw on stage the entire time. Michael Anthony was his usual badass self with his unique backing vocals while Joe Satriani shredded damn near every note of every song perfectly. Sammy still has the chops to deliver the vocals. If/when this show comes back around I will buy the tickets! Great night! Great show! (See you in Cabo next October)
Best Concert of Year ! SAMMY is my favorite artist !
Best show ever. Vocals, energy was off the charts. Joe's playing was perfect. Sammy is the best!
