RICK SPRINGFIELD IN CONCERT:
Rock superstar Rick Springfield has been wooing audiences with his polished voice and leading-man looks ever since his rise to fame in the early '70s. More than four decades later, he looks and sounds as good as ever, treating fans to an unforgettable evening of solo performance and storytelling on his Stripped Down tour. Taking time between each song to relay the touching and humorous stories that inspired them, Springfield has proven that his talents as an entertainer extend well beyond his musical abilities. Whether fans catch him solo or performing with a full band, they can count on plenty of showmanship and charisma as he works his way through nostalgic hits like "Jesse's Girl" and "Don't Talk to Strangers."
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Australian-born Rick Springfield began playing the guitar at age 13, cutting his teeth in several bands in England after his army officer father relocated the family there in 1958. After a stint fronting the British band Zoot in the late '60s, Springfield launched his solo career in 1971 with debut single "Speak to the Sky," a Top 10 hit in his native Australia. After releasing several moderately successful albums in the '70s, Springfield hit his stride in 1981 with Working Class Dog, a massive success propelled by the No. 1 hit "Jesse's Girl." 1982's My Success Hasn't Spoiled Yet fared similarly, landing at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and spawning several more hit singles. A veteran showman with four decades of touring under his belt, Springfield returns to the road once again for a string of highly anticipated tour dates.
FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:
"Loved the more intimate setting of just Rick, loved the stories mixed in with the songs."
"Rick sounds great! He tells the stories behind the songs. So fun!"
"Not only was his music incredible, but his stories and humor made the evening a blast for our group of six!"
Two great artists together. I kept needing to go to the bathroom but could just not pull myself away.
Loved they way they shared the stage. Q & A would've topped it off.
Rick and Richard were wonderful singing together. I loved the interaction with the audience. The story telling for each song provided some depth of the history making hits. The smaller venue was great for this type of show. Rock on Rick & Richard!
Great!! Not just the great music, but a couple of funny stories and memories. I would go again, they both sounded great and still look darn good!
What a great show!! Great story telling and great music!!!
Rick was amazing, like always. The venue was warm and the chairs were smashed together. Very uncomfortable. No room next to you or in front of you. Everyone was touching the person next to them. Some more than others. People were standing on the sides because there just wasn’t room.
Just Wow. Rick and Richard put on a terrific show. They engaged the audience, were very funny and their performances were impeccable. They both have great voices and had a perfect harmonic blend for their acoustic show. I would highly recommend seeing them either together or individually if you get the chance. It's nice to have performers who don't just go out there and sing but actually tell stories and give you background information on their songs. Loved this show so much!
We had tickets to Rick Springfield and Richard Marx acoustic concert. It was such a wonderful concert and a great venue! Getting in and out of the parking lot was easy. Ample parking. Plenty of options for eating prior to the show. If you ever get the opportunity to see a show here, it will be well worth it!
Not only are both singers fantastic, and by the way, sound JUST like they did way back when! The way they did the concert by both being out on stage telling stories and going back and forth with their songs made it feel like we were just all hanging out. Amazing!!
It was nice with the two artists going back/forth with songs and stories about each other/themselves. Just two singers doing their songs acoustically.
