Powerhouse
Over the decades, the Powerhouse concerts have become an institution in hip-hop, put on by a radio station that's remained a mainstay of urban contemporary music for decades. WUSL 98.9, out of Philadelphia (better known to its huge audience as Power 99 FM) has sponsored the annual Powerhouse concerts since 1982. Fans know that every time autumn rolls around, they can expect an onstage onslaught of major players in the hip-hop game giving their all — and getting back a ton of love from the crowd.
Power 99 was joined by New York City station WWPR 105.1 (aka Power 105.1) when it became a go-to source for hip-hop and R&B in 2002. These days, the Powerhouse concerts are a two-pronged event with shows sponsored by both stations. Looking back over the history of the Powerhouse shows is a little bit like glancing back at the history of hip-hop itself. Year after year, the event has hosted the major artists of the moment, whether that meant featuring Xzibit, Ludacris and Ja Rule in 2001, showcasing Drake, Rick Ross and Trey Songz in 2011, or offering the likes of Cardi B, Lil Uzi Vert and G-Eazy in 2018.

I guess they let you do whatever you want I just believe I cannot ever want to go to something else again
I my tickets the show said it started at 6:00 pm. But the show didn’t start until 7:00 pm. I haven’t been to Powerhouse in a while but from what I remember, the show started promptly last time. And then they kept announcing artists that were about to come out and then 30 min later were still waiting for that artists to come out. I feel that it was too long of intermissions between artists. But other than that the show was okay.
The screens really need to be replaced why would they think it would be ok for it to be dark inside with terrible screens for the money i spend to come there
There was no merch out for any of the artists the concert dragged on for way longer than it needed to and it was just not a good experience at all plus you couldn’t even understand any of the artists at all unless you knew the songs because the sound system was very poor quality 3/10 experience and I will not be going to another one of these concerts.
To many kids there the artists always cancel then it’s loooooong commercials they have an award out like we were at the BET AWARDS then the lonnnnnnnnnnnnnG DRAGGED OUT wait before another artist I can e to see a show not save to music I can dance at home to ??
The lineup of artists was great! However, it seemed unorganized. There were too many commercials and breaks in between shows.
I recommend this event twice a year, summer & winter… I had a absolute ball…
The line to get in was very long did the first time in years. The floor seating is Horrible! Ppl were standing on chairs which made us unable to see the show. The performers did the minimum songs and the performances were alright but not great at all
I have love the experience and seeing the celebrity that I have been waiting for a long time.
