Pile & Kal Marks were incredible!
by Evitoheat on 2/27/15Great Scott - AllstonI've seen pile many times from the first week I started listening to them, to the epic and giant sound that pile had played for us on Tuesday night, it just so happen to be a close friends birthday and us being huge pile fans why wouldn't we go to the CD RELEASE on his birthday? In hindsight I love the great Scott and I love pile and have seen both very many times in different venues this particular time however was the best pile I've seen yet, they seem revitalized with the new material that will be sure to crush your skull or make your cry because i havent put the record down since Tuesday. Kal marks also played an awesome with their new drummer Alex, the kid was so tight on all of the fills on "Life is murder" it was like listening to the record all over again, they played a couple new one that make me excited for what's in store in the future. New England patriots was alright I couldn't quite make out what was happening practically The entire time the vocalist was using some sort of synth from what i heard but couldn't see to confirm what was happening so I just sat at the bar awaiting kal marks the wondering if my ears would begin to bleed, the band seemed to have fun though as they were set up on the floor which I don't usually see at The Great Scott Of course we come to style- A band made up of songs that sound like genres of others I laughed when I saw the set list that said "poppunk, folk" Either way I saw the singer play in his other project awhile ago on my birthday at a pile show as ACLU benefit a from what I got a hilarious acoustic act but mostly but the singers awesome stage banter. If you missed this show you missed a pile set you probably will never hear again, And a show that surely was the only way to kick off a tour for a band that deserves so much more than what they are at.
