Great show, great price, nice small venue. Highly recommend.
With a packed house at Mickey’s Black Box on Friday night last (4/26) my cohorts and myself reveled in the terrific performance of the Philadelphia Freedom band. Each musician was stellar in highlighting the nuances of Elton’s original recordings. However, Elton’s incarnation did a superb job of singing, piano playing and just playing with the audiences. Having seen the real deal at least a half dozen times these performers did a wonderful homage to Sir Elton. We and other audience members sang with all songs from Funeral for a Friend to Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting. And that, my ‘friends’ (see what I did there) what it is all about. Thank You!
A wonderful show playing all the best...the young gentleman portraying Elton John was energetic and got the audience involved...he is an outstanding pianist, vocalist and showman! His band was spot on and experienced musicians. I loved that Elton warmly thanked the audience since it was his home town ...I would definitely recommend and wouldn't hesitate to see this band again...
Had a great time with great friends!! Show was high energy and very enjoyable!!
Philadelphia Freedom was do amazing and fun! Highly recommend. Also, the opening act, Burn the Jukebox, was fantastic! A great night all around.
This was the first time I got to see Philadelphia Freedom since the pandemic hit. When I saw them in 2019 it was literally a different band. To see their growth has been a wonderful thing. They headlined the Kirby Center and it was rightfully deserved. Such a talented group of players! And to play like Elton is not an easy thing to accomplish. Since Elton is now retired from touring acts paying tribute to him (and doing it well) will be the only way to hear these classics songs live. PF will not disappoint if you've never seen them. Yes, they do a lot of the songs you'd expect, but there are also some rare ones thrown in there. Cant wait to see them again.
The Philadelphia Freedom band was Great!! I saw Elton John in concert and he was Amazing so I can compare PF to him . Their sound was fantastic… the music as well as the vocals!
It's was a great evening with both Burn The Jukebox and Philadelphia Freedom both were fantastic not a dull moment very much would see them again
We were really pleasantly surprised at what a great Elton John tribute this was. All his greatest hits performed authentically. The venue at the Vogel is fun and comfortable.
