Philadelphia 76ers History
The Philadelphia 76ers were one of the league's first franchises. Founded in 1946 and playing their first NBA season in 1949, the team was introduced as the Syracuse Nationals and played home games in upstate New York.
After moving to Philadelphia in 1963 and adopting the 76ers moniker in honor of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in the city in 1776, the team has had a prominent history featuring several players who would go on to be inducted into the Pro Basketball Hall of Fame: Dolph Schayes, Hal Greer, Wilt Chamberlain, Billy Cunningham, Bobby Jones, Julius Erving, Maurice Cheeks, Moses Malone, Charles Barkley, and Allen Iverson.?
The 76ers have made 52 playoff appearances and earned nine trips to the NBA Finals, winning three World Championships. Chamberlain, Erving, Malone, Iverson and Joel Embiid have all also been named the NBA Most Valuable Player while playing for the 76ers, for a total of seven MVP awards. In 2024, Tyrese Maxey collected the franchise’s second Most Improved Player Award after Dana Barros in 1995.?
The Philadelphia 76ers organization is part of the Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment ownership group.

The players were awesome and they played hard. Me and my kids had a great time.
Always enjoy a Sixers win . Changed it up and got Shake Shack for the first time. Food was good . Bathrooms always clean . A good time was had by all
Before Christmas we got 4th row seats behind the basket for $99 each. Great seats. There are deals if u book far enough in advance! They benched Embiid 30 mins before the game so that stunk but Maxey showed up and they got a W.
We missed the first half of the game trying to park. Every gate we got up to closed right before we got to it. Make sure you get there extra early.
My husband surprised me with these tickets. We left early enough to get there on time yet somehow didnt arrive until the end of the 3rd quarter. Someone scheduled a phillies game AND sixers game at the same time. The parking lot gates were closed for the wells fargo center until my husband had to yell at a lot attendant to let us in for the game. THEN when we finally got into the arena there were people in all THREE of our purchased seats and no other seats open around for us to sit.
Came to see basketball as strangers to Philly and game exceeded expectations.
The Sixers game itself was great. The only issue I had was that I received no upfront notice that the two seats (Section 104 Seats 9 and 10) I purchased that were next to each other had a guard rail separating them. Either we had to access the seats from two different sides or one of us (me or my 11 yo old son) had to climb the railing to access the other seat. Then we were having conversations through a metal guard rail all game. I was disappointed with not getting an upfront notice about that.
Enjoyed the night out to my first Sixers game. Great seats and it was fan appreciation night. Good luck getting food or beverages but the experience for the night was still great.
Good overall experience, Sixers got a win ! Only reason for not a higher review was Sixers stars were injured- Embiid and Harris and Miami’s Butler was injured.
First time using ticket master, it was super easy and the event was amazing! Thanks!
Had tickets in the Assembly Room for a group of seven of us. No problems getting up to the seating area, loved the couches and fire places that were up there, we had a blast watching the game from there or from the standing room area. Great time, we will be back for sure.
The Assembly Room itself, is great value for the price. It’s no secret though that the food is outrageously over priced. Little value for the money spent there though but I don’t expect that to change.
Drove to Philly had a great meal , visited some friends watched the game in a great atmosphere
We really enjoyed the game even though our team lost! The entertainment during game breaks was unexpected but added a lot to the evening. Two negatives: (1) could not get actual tickets but had to download them to our cell - not a big deal but a bit annoying (2) the food at the Wells Fargo Center was lousy and way, way over priced. You are not allowed to bring anything in, and with a captive crowd, the gauging was outrageous!
Tickets cost a fortune, and the Sixer’s played horribly.
It was my grandson’s first time seeing an NBA game in person.. it was a great time and we had a lot fun even though our team lost!
Spent $900+ on three tickets. The game was awful worst basketball I have seen in person in a long time. What a waste of time and money. The Sixers are a bad product that is not worth watching anywhere. Without Embiid the Sixers are one of the worst teams in the NBA. No effort no energy and no win
Overall very positive. As a constructive criticism, I think Ticketmaster can provide better instructions for parking. Maybe include a map attached to the ticket or list the parking lot letter. Also, if you can provide feedback to the venue, they could use some traffic preparation to ensure better and safer flow of cars in and out. You can use other cities’ procedures as reference. Overall the parking process looked disorganized (we were visiting Philly). Thank you.
You'd think paying more for seating in section 1 would be awesome, think again. The seats beyond the wall are higher, leaving everyone in front completely obstructing near view. Watching the game mostly on the screen, leaving with a stiff neck from looking up. My girlfriend is short, she couldn't see anything unless someone moved. Myself, I'm 6'2 sitting down could only see the rims and heads of players when they came near. 112-1-7,8 seats sucked! Waste of $1,100 and the 3 hour drive!
Took a couple of my grandkids to the sixers/hawks game. Seating was in the higher 200 section but still good seats and view. I liked the electronic-only access. The event was crowded but Wells Fargo attendants managed the traffic flow well. I rated the event a four only because the concessions are poor with dry chicken tenders, shoe-leather burgers and stale fries for eighty bucks. Because the kids had a blast, I'll do another game, maybe next time a flyers game but I'll definitely eat first.
