It took us 45 minutes to even get into the venue. The lines for security were slow moving and poorly organized. We were told by staff at the venue to go to another entrance and then walked - carrying chairs, blankets, food - with young children all the way to the other side. Then proceeded to move at a snail's pace through this security line in the sun. By the time we got into the venue, we were ready to leave. The concert itself was fine - a bit quiet - but the steps needed just to get inside were very frustrating. The staff need to be more organized, faster, and have a better idea of the wait times at various lines.
This was an excellent venue for a concert. They just need more bathrooms and to spread out the places people can get drinks and food more. Instead of having them all on one side. The only other problem we had was the lines are so long and it takes forever to get in. In the parking is minimal
The concert itself was a blast! None of the advertising for this show that I had seen said that Berlin would be there. Surprise!!! Berlin opened for Pat and Neil, setting up the great energy that we felt all evening. They both really had a rockin’ show! Loved it! The shuttle service from the distant parking was excellent. The amount of time that we stood in line waiting for the gates was the only downside to the experience. Almost an hour later than the gates were to open, we finally got to them.
We were very disappointed with the Pat Benatar & Neil Geraldo concert. She did not come on stage until after 8:30 pm, more than one and a half hours after the stated start time. Even between the backup band (okay, Berlin was cool) and the billed band, there was a wait. I doubt we’ll be back to Chateau St Michelle for a while. It’s become too commercial. Having to pay $20 to park and still walk half a mile is ridiculous. Poor sound quality to boot! No thanks!
I think there should be large screens, on both sides of the stage, so you can see the stage clearly from any area of the venue. Things were in the way on the side, made it very unpleasant. All I could enjoy is the audio.
This is 4 stars because the opening act, Berlin was terrific! For the headliner to play just barely 1 hour was very disappointing. Even the general admission tickets were over $100 once Ticketmaster took their pound of flesh. Also, the fact that these winery concerts are being oversold by at least 25% does not contribute to the fun factor. Long lines for EVERYTHING and GA seating is terrible unless you can get in line 5 hours before the gates open.
I was lucky enough to sit in the Q&A for VIP. Neil and Pat read two of my questions and were extremely nice and helpful. It was probably the greatest moment of my life. The concert definitely matched the energy from the start. Great event.
Powerful voices, indeed. The opening band, Berlin, started off with strong, female voice. They aroused the crowd, playing a few hit tunes and overall, a fantastic sound. Then the main act with Pat Benetar and Neil Geraldo and band belting out their hit tunes, sounding just like their recordings. I enjoy researching the artists' shows that I attend. It was good to realize Neil wrote some of their early hits, as the bands guitarists. I had assumed Neil was an independent crooner who had a relationship with Pat. But I could find individual recordings by him. Then the understand of his role started to come together. Great show, which was worth staying through their entire show and endure the traffic upon exiting the event.
Berlin and Benatar 40 years of choice music. Outdoor weather and hamburger friendly. Easily accessible Champagne at reasonable rate At least cheaper than onsite parking. Improvements: Needs better enforcement of ADA area As concert guests who are unable to stand have a blocked view from other guests who can stand. Even though we all are getting used to airport security lines, Food and Beverage carts outside may help with the one hour wait to enter venue with Disney type switchback lines once opened. Also, appreciated Guest Services Lady walking the lines to inform us of new rules.
