Okay Kaya is a Norwegian-American composer and visual artist based in Berlin. On 2018's Both and 2020's Spellemann Award-winning Watch This Liquid Pour Itself, Kaya explored the neurochemical roots of melancholy, existential dread and sexual desire. Born Kaya Wilkins, the artist released her third-album SAP in November 2022 via Jagjaguwar. The follow-up to 2021’s The Incompatible Okay Kaya, the project was written, engineered and produced by Kaya as a concept album that explores her consciousness. "Even my subconscious is self-conscious," she croons on “Inside of a Plum.” SAP includes guest spots by Taja Cheek of L’Rain, Nick Hakim, and the Moldy Peaches' Adam Green. Kaya has toured worldwide for over a decade (including a sold-out European tour in 2022) and exhibited her art at Melk in Oslo, Entrance in New York and Etage Projects in Copenhagen.??
