Great experience at the Buckeyes vs Illinois wrestling match. I would recommend if you like wrestling to at least go once to see how cool the Covelli Center is.
Constant action. Matches are never fully decided until the last whistle. Great seats placing you close to the action.
Bucs against cornel came down to heavyweight match. One of the best matches I’ve seen in a long time -
This new venue is much smaller than the previous. Now tickets for wrestling matches are harder to obtain and the prices have doubled. A meet line up card would be great.
Great venue for watching buckeye wrestling. Always a great experience win or lose.
Great experience last Friday at Covelli center. Beautiful new facility, great sold-out support for Buckeye wrestling team and #1 Penn State in town. Need I say more!
I had a grandson start youth wrestling this year. I wanted to take him to an OSU Wrestling meet. This was my first time at the Coveli Center. It is a great venue for wrestling.
We attended the OSU vs. Iowa dual. The Coveli Ctr. was smaller than I expected which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Overall 4.5 out of 5 ?'s. Read on on for specifics. Seating: I don't think there's a bad seat in the house. We bought $20 upper level Sec. 8, row Q. We had no trouble seeing and were at most 150 feet from the edge of the mat. This was much closer than I thought we'd be. I will buy $20 seats again. IMO, the seats next section down and on the floor don't warrant the extra price because you're paying double or much more to get only 10's of feet closer. I walked down to floor level to watch a match. These may be the worst value seats because while you're very close, you are sitting flat floor level viewing the event between the heads of the seats in front of you. Facility: Excellent, it's new so it doesn't have many miles on it yet. It's laid out well. Sunken floor and easy to get to your seats. You can walk the entire perimeter of the venue at the top level. I would guess it seats 5-6,000. Attendence was 4,400 the night we were there. This will sound weird but It's big enough to be big and small enough to feel intimate and close to the action. Amenities: Standing Room Only areas are cool and only $18. Although I'd spend the extra $2 to have a seat. Plenty of access to ample sized, clean restrooms. There are windows & counters for concessions. Parking was okay. We didn't really try to park close. We walked less than 5 minutes to get to the arena. The walk there was well lit with sidewalks the whole way. Cons: None of these are deal breakers for me. Just 2 mild to moderate things that are fixable or things that I think could have been better. I get you may not care at all. #1 Concessions were closed and unavailable. I realize that this might be Covid related and if it is then it's no biggie. I also get that they want to keep the place clean. However, it is a bit rediculous to see people filling up and walking around with a cup for water. It's a multi-hour event some concessions would be nice. Even vending machines are better than nothing. #2 The availability and variety of event and/or OSU related merch was lame. They had 1 style OSU wrestling t-shirt, 1 style hoodie, a ball cap, foam #1 hand, and maybe 1 or 2 other trinket things for sale. I like to buy merch and souvenirs as gifts for family and friends. I generally spend about $200 on merch/gifts. They were selling merch off of 1 clothes rack and a small wall cubby. I just wished there was more variety and a real, designated space to shop. Overall, it was a great, well run event in a very nice new facility. 4.5 ? out of 5.
Used the Ticketmaster app to pull up my tickets befire walking into the arena. Barcodes scanned easily, got right in.
