Novo Amor on Tour
The soft-spoken and melancholy voice is a staple for the ultra-talented singer, songwriter and producer Novo Amor. The Welsh indie-rock and folk artist is set to commence his 2022 tour, making 28 stops across Brazil, Canada and the United States. Novo Amor's multi-instrumental talent mixed with his hypnotic and soulful singing creates an incredible performance. One concertgoer wrote, "Novo Amor was absolutely amazing live. Their vocals are unreal. It was one of the best concerts I've ever attended, so glad I got to go." First finding success in 2014 with his EP Woodgate, NY, Novo Amor continued to produce and release mesmerizing hits. Following his first EP, Novo Amor released Bathing Beach in 2017 and his dual album with Ed Tullett, Heiress, that same year. Novo Amor's debut album, Birthplace, was released in 2018 and was soon followed by his short two-song EP No Fun / Lucky For You with Gia Margaret. His next album, Cannot Be, Whatsoever, followed in 2020, and his most recent album, Antarctican Dream Machine, was released in 2022.
Novo Amor was born Ali John Meredith-Lacey in Llanidloes, Wales. He currently lives in his half-home, half-music studio in Cardiff, Wales. He began his music career following a breakup, choosing the name Novo Amor, meaning "New Love" in Portuguese. Novo Amor's interest in music began around the age of 10 when he started skateboarding. In an interview with performermag.com Novo Amor said, "Skateboarding and music seemed to go hand in hand, with all the music you hear on the skate tapes." From there, he fell in love with rock and punk music, listening to bands like Green Day, The Offspring and AFI. Novo Amor joined his first band at 13 and has been producing and recording music ever since. His unique and beautifully produced 2015 cover of Guns N' Roses' "Welcome to the Jungle" was used in an Axe/Lynx advertising campaign. Novo Amor has more than 5 million monthly listeners on Spotify, with his most popular songs "Anchor," "State Lines" and "Carry You"? having a combined more than 430 million streams.

The whole event was perfect the, the venue provided an intimate setting that truly made the evening magical. It has been days since the concert and I still feel as if I'm floating. Novo Amor is truly an out of body experience I'd recommend to anyone.
This is the first Novo show I ever attended. I never expect he sounds even better in live performance, considering the falsetto being used heavily in production. The venue is not big, but he and his band manage to deliver the most vivid universe using only a few LED screens and stripes on the back, and, surprisingly, a disco ball. The diverse rhythmic visuals were obviously created with whole heart and imagination--I even checked the ticket order detail afterwards, how could I deserve such art at this price? The entire show was a cozy and dreamy escape to me, just like the soundscape he created in my earphones. I laughed to his jokes and cried to his magic. It was during this show that I realized how much I overlooked his production the whole time--it was just heavenly fabulous and intricate. This is a group of low-key musicians that really have found the most comfortable way to express themselves through music. I don't think their dedication and craftsmanship will ever change whether they are with a small group or a stadium of people. Love them so so much.
Novo Amor was so magical so see live, I had a blast listening to his amazing voice! I'm glad he played both recent songs and older ones so most of my favourite ones were performed at some point!
It was amazing to hear such a great artist live. The ??Q and A?? was fun and gave us a chance to know the guy behind the music.
Everything from the venue, the food and drinks and including the performances of the opener Afternoon Bike Ride and the main performance of Novo Amor was well put together. Phenomenal experience and thoroughly enjoyed the 2nd floor unobstructed seating. Staff were friendly and very inviting and accomodating. We will definitely be back in the future.
Great experience, lovely venue at History! Great sound, very talented and sounded great live.
Who does a half hour of random Q&A? He played songs only like the album...didn't riff anything no solos, no playing to the crowd..then randomly he takes 30 minutes of Q&A before playing 1 encore song...he really didn't want to be there and even said it on stage, "I'd rather play 3 songs and eat a bunch of pizza together,"dead serious. Very disappointing live show
One of the most beautiful concerts I’ve been to! Absolutely loved the artist and how interactive he was with the crowd!
I love Novo Amor! Concert was spectacular after waiting for almost a year. Couldn’t get enough of it and couldn’t stop singing it all afterwards. Crowd was super chill too so it was a great night. Come back soon Novo!
