Best week end of races in a long time. Be there next year
Very good event. The VIP parking is a must, we got in and out very quickly, without any delays. Awesome racing all day long! The pits were great, got to see alot of drivers and got pictures with a few of them. Very good event, over all!
If you love cars and never been to a NHRA national event, you are missing out big time. Seeing a nitro powered top fuel or funny car go from 0 to 300 mph in around 4 seconds in 1000 feet is spectacular. A pair of 8000 horse power cars leaving the starting line will feel like someone is beating you on the chest with a ball pein hammer, it literally shakes the ground. The access to the pit area is better than any other form of motor sports, you can stand 10 feet away as they warm these motors up before each round of racing, and that in it's self is an ultimate rush. The television coverage as of late has been great, but nothing beats being there to witness this first hand.
we had an amazing time! everything was easily accessible, lines were short, food and beverage were inexpensive in comparison to many other events and parking was free! Couldn't ask for much more.
nhra always puts on great events, all the racers are willing to talk to the fans, it's just a great way to spend time away from normal every day life.
The NHRA Summer Nationals were a great experience and did not disappoint. Of course there were the local cars, like the Camaros, Mustangs, and Mopars running their best, and blasters like the Top Alcohol Dragsters. But the big stars of course were Pro Stock, Funny Car, and Top Fuel. When the funny cars and top fuelers make their runs, you can feel the power shaking you to your ribcage. The scariest part of the day was when Jim Head's funny car blew up and then crashed into Jeff Arend's car; good thing everyone was okay. My only gripe would be that Heartland Park needs to fix the speakers by the General Admission stands. And would NHRA please bring the Pro Stock bikes to Topeka!!
We hadn't been in 12 years...and returned to find that we still love the smell of rubber and smoke from the tires. The experience is like no other...we loved it! It was awesome to be able to walk around the pits and see the cars being worked on and see the drivers come out to greet the fans. Best experience ever.
It was cloudy and windy all day, but was great considering it could have been around 90-ish and we would have gotten worse sunburns that what we did. The VIP reserved seats were awesome; we could see everything at burnout and start. Definitely bring earplugs!
first time ever going always seen on t.v now i will be going all the time just amazing..congrads to Robert Hight and The Sarge
