New York Rangers History
The Rangers, one of the Original Six NHL teams, were founded in 1926 by Tex Rickard. According to legend, the New York media nicknamed the team “Tex's Rangers,” a play on the famed law enforcers Texas Rangers.?
The team has won four Stanley Cup Championships, the first of which came in only their second season (1928) and the most recent in 1994, beating Vancouver in Game 7 to break a 54-year drought and send Cup-starved fans into a frenzy. The Rangers have also taken home four Presidents’ Trophies and won eight divisional championships — most recently winning both for the 2023-2024 season.
The Rangers' 2017-2018 campaign broke a string of seven consecutive seasons in which the team reached the Playoffs — including the 2013-2014 campaign, which ended in a five-game series loss to the Los Angeles Kings in the Stanley Cup Final.
Among the Hall of Famers to don the Rangers sweater are Andy Bathgate, Eric Lindros, Phil Esposito, and Wayne Gretzky. Nine players have had their number retired by the team: Bathgate, Ed Giacomin, Rod Gilbert, Adam Graves, Harry Howell, Brian Leetch, Mark Messier, Jean Ratelle, and Mike Richter. Herb Brooks (1937-2003), who coached the Rangers from 1981-1985, also coached the U.S. Olympic hockey team to its "Miracle on Ice" victory over the Soviet Union and on to a gold medal in the 1980 Winter Olympic Games in Lake Placid, N.Y.

Nothing like watching the rangers at msg. The rangers are such an amazing team & the garden is always full of energy! Must see. 10/10
Well managed facility, clean, and above all entertaining!
MSG is the best! That's it! All other arenas don't compare!
NHL playoffs is interesting experience, I enjoy it
Great seats with great views, spectacular light show, fun fans, accessible vendors, courteous and accommodating staff, phenomenal action on the ice and a win to set the stage for the series! However, wish there was earlier access to seats other than just one hour prior to the puck drop and can never understand why the escalators do not work upon exiting the Garden!
Great game great crowd. Seats were great. Prices not so great but it’s NYC
Everything is way way too expensive. Cost a week’s vacation just to take a family of four to a game.
We were in New York for a bucket list trip and what better way to add to that trip than a game at Madison Square Garden! What an amazing building, what an amazing game! Staff and atmosphere were top notch!
Watching the Rangers clinch home ice, the division, and the league was pretty amazing. The Garden is definitely the place to be when it comes to hockey season. Can't wait to see a new Stanley Cup banner in the rafters.
We have a fantastic experience every time we attend a Rangers game at MSG!
A good game. Incredible team, Igor is the best !!!
From warm-ups to “the shirts off their backs”all of us had the best time at the game on April 15, 2024! Everyone treated us with care, attention, professionalism and understanding. Our grandchildren aged 5 and 6 were in awe of their entire experience with our NY Rangers! Great job everyone who we had contact with: from fellow fans to each employee this was a night none of us will forget! Thanks for making us make unforgettable memories at MSG!
I got these tickets last minute as a surprise for my fiancé for his birthday. It ended up being one of the best nights ever!! We got there early to watch the team warmup and the “blue crew” picked us to be part of a game and we won!! We were on the big screen and went home with a gift card! Everything was seamless and he had a memorable birthday!
So excited that I was able to see the last regular season game of my favorite New York Rangers on my birthday with my daughter! They had many amazing records that evening and earned the President's Trophy! It was an amazing game at an amazing venue! Thank you for the great experience!

It was my nephew's second game and wife's third .both are now loyal fans . Saturday's game was thrilling, exciting and had everything from penalty shot IGOR saved , PANARIN(BREAD ) ??scored to get to overtime and TROCHECK won shoot out for win ???? Nothing like a old time hockey rivalry Nephew and wife hooked and fans for life
Brilliant atmosphere all the way through. Had a great seat with perfect view. And the right team won. Great afternoon out.
These seats are mostly blocked by a section of seating above. You cannot see any of the Jumbotron. You can see most of the rink but it should be well advertised that in this row you can’t see the big screens or screens around the arena. 2-3 rows closer make a huge difference in this section.
