So happy to see Lucinda on the road! Her voice is as strong as ever!
This was simply a great night of rock and roll. Lucinda’s opening was pure Lucinda Williams. While she isn’t playing guitar, and her gait is less than steady, her voice, timing and leadership of her band is superb. The Dirty Knobs were a clinic in rock and roll musicianship. Mike Campbell shines by supporting his band-he’s about the song. If you have the opportunity-see this concert
Lucinda Williams and her band were on first. No matter her physical health, musically she was fantastic with a great band supporting her. Mike Campbell & The Dirty Knobs - musical geniuses! Mike is simply amazing and every single member of his band was superb. The Silver Legacy's intimate theater style provided the backdrop for a memorable, entertaining evening.
As a 5 decade TPHB fan as well as a continuing Mike Campbell fan, I'll testify Mike & the boys put on a great show. In this show, the last hour or so of their show they shared the stage with Lucinda, and it was great as well. Mike's doing well as the "Captain", taking over for Tom, and continues to bring some great tunes with each of his album releases.
Mike and the band were great! "We got lucky"as a couple of ladies had front row seats, and wanted to trade with someone. We were in row 15, and traded with them. Was so fun to be up close! It was so nice when Lucinda Williams came back on and sang with them. So glad that she's doing well. Loved seeing her also. She's been on my bucket list for years. We had a great night, and we think that Tom Petty intervened to make it so!
I love Lucinda and went to this concert to see her and she did “bring back my joy”. Wonderful to have the audience give her so much love and her giving it back. I don’t know why I wasn’t aware of who Mike Campbell was but a lot of the audience was there to see him and now I know why. On top of the nostalgia for Tom Petty, he and the Dirty Knobs brought back the fun and musicianship of great rock and roll. Fabulous! Bought their LP ad will cherish that jam with Lucinda!
Lucinda and Mike! Lots of fun. What more can I say?
Mike Campbell and the Dirty Knobs are an epic rock band. They play original songs, pieces Mike co-wrote with Tom Petty, and some covers. A rock band is best seen and heard in a venue where the audience can get up and move to the music. The Silver Legacy discourages that, so while the band prefers a high-energy crowd, the venue was busy stopping people from too much of that. So I give the performance 5 stars but the venue 2.5 stars.
The musicians were phenomenal - loved all the guitar ,mandolin- great concert. Lucinda was great. Really my only disappointment was how short the whole experience was- only 1 hour for a concert (considering what I paid ) was upsetting.
Both Lucinda Williams and Mike Campbell and the dirty knobs were fantastic. The sound was great and the venue was a beautiful theater. The staff were polite and very helpful. We stayed at the hotel so we were very close and our stay was very enjoyable. Also a great and friendly staff for the hotel. All in all a very very good weekend.
