About
There's a sense of nostalgia in watching a legendary Latin pop diva stay true to her roots. Power ballads and catchy melodies bring people together on an emotional level, something the multi-talented singer and television personality MarÃa José excels at.
Born MarÃa José Loyola Anaya in Mexico City, José's career began in 1996 as a singer in the Latin pop group Kabah. After almost a decade of commercial success, Kabah disbanded in 2005 after releasing their album El Pop. Immediately afterward, the band members went their separate ways.
José continued her career as a solo artist, releasing her eponymous debut album in 2007. MarÃa José had a few hits, but her second album, Amante de lo Ajeno (2009), dispelled any doubt there may have been about the pop star's longevity.
Amante de lo Ajeno reached No. 2 on the Mexican albums chart, with José covering '80s hits once popularized by Daniela Romo, MarÃa Conchita Alonso, LucÃa Méndez, and other pop divas. "No Soy una Se?ora," the lead single on the album based on Venezuelan singer Melissa Griffiths' 1983 hit, was especially beloved.
Her third album, Amante de lo Bueno (2010), followed the same format as her sophomore album, covering more pop hits from the '80s and '90s. José called the album the "side b" to her previous record and succeeded in evoking the same whimsy the songs did so many years before, albeit with José's signature vocal imprint.
De Noche (2012) and Habla Ahora (2016), her fourth and fifth studio albums respectively, featured original songs and saw incredible critical and commercial success and spawned tours in both Mexico and the U.S.?
A true talent, José has been nominated for numerous awards, most notably for Best New Artist in the Premios Oye!, the Mexican equivalent of the Grammys.?

by MJ on 11/29/23Ace of Spades - SacramentoI bought the greet and meet for 100 dollars mind you we had to wait for a hour and a half or so to take ONLY and that was it a picture like not even a goodie bag nothing not no autograph nothing. When we did meet and greet people from general admissions were already at the front so time management was bad. That most who paid the meet and greet were at the back. I paid an extra 100 bucks to take a picture with my mom and artist and it turned out it was only individual pictures. It was not worth and their crew was unorganized. I feel they just needed to be more organized. The thing I liked is that the artist did sing using her vocals cause now and days artist just play like the music.

Again, I think ticketmaster, Seitrack US or whoever else sets these up need to help promote Spanish Pop artists more in the US, there are too many good artists that people don't know about, like Maria Jose, and then no one knows they come to town.
